I also agree that the episode was somewhat wasted.  However I want to point out that when Superboy 'rants', it isn't about "how he wants to be just like his father", but rather an attack on Megan for bring up his personal issues.  That's why he brought up not living in a "fantasy world" where all problems are "solved…
