Seriously, Woodhouse, when I said you could hang Georgia O'Keefes in here I was joking. Do not do that.

"Anti-atheism might've been the intention"… maybe, but I doubt it. In the first act of the book Pi remarks (quoting from memory so probably not that accurate): "It isn't atheists that stick in my craw, reader, it's agnostics. Atheists are men of faith: they walk as far as the legs of logic will carry them, and then

That's possible. Now I think about it, Pi had the opportunity to leave Parker to die on the island, but decides to wait for him. So perhaps Parker isn't Pi as such; he's the ever-present God who follows him; Pi had the opportunity to abandon God and live in ignorance but chose not to, despite the huge undertaking it

Well, if I remember right, Future Jack said they do have sex, but to answer your question… yes, I think you are.

We get our penises out more than them
Most of our output has rather more colour than
Three little maids in a school in Jap-aihn

Holy shit, that got three Likes? I posted that while shitface drunk and it wasn't funny. I feel as though Likes have seriously devalued around here lately.

Hmm. I'm coming to this Spoiler Space as someone who read the book and didn't see the film, but re the storm scene (which I don't remember being in the book but maybe it was), perhaps Pi simply didn't want Parker to be scared because fear is what causes animals to attack (this is dwelt on in the book at length).

I saw the teaser trailer with an ex-gf: it's the scene where all the flying fish come jumping out onto the boat. She's terrified of fish, and as it was in 3D, she pretty much discovered a whole new vein of nightmare fuel for the mining.

"you as a reader tend to try and find meaning, perhaps inspiration in it"… perhaps; I kind of see it. But I felt the tiger story to be just as merciless and nihilistic as the alternative; indeed, much of the lay-up of the book explains how brutally pragmatic the animal kingdom is. Pi seemed to have some real love for

Haven't seen the film but did read the book, and I think you two may have collectively had the Life of Pi experience the author intended.
