I never said that U2's "great" albums don't remain "great".  I'm merely suggesting that albums past "Zooropa" were horrendous and sullied my  interest in a band I used to love.  It doesn't help that Bono has become absolutely insufferable in recent years as well.

Not too sure, to be honest — you may be right about Clayton and Campbell's breakup occurring after the song's release.

As I understand it, the song "Babyface" is NOT about porn — it's about Adam Clayton's breakup with supermodel Naomi Campbell.  Speculation was that he was going to marry her and then she unceremoniously dumped his ass.  Apparently, Clayton was a wreck after the breakup — it stands to reason that he obsessively pined

I'm thinking he was well aware of the possible double entendre.  "Love vibration", come on!! :-P

Hmmm… I always thought "Dancing with Myself" was a euphemism for masturbation.  But perhaps James is right?  Maybe he IS dancing with himself — which is infinitely sadder(!) than jerking one's self off, no?

To be honest, I'm not so sure if "Stripped" is the better track.  "But Not Tonight" may have been intended as a throwaway song and may not have the weight of "Stripped", but it's incredibly catchy, has an air of reckless abandon and is ironically uplifting when compared to the rest of the Black Celebration era output.

Hmmm… no mention of the movie "Teachers".  That was the first film that came to mind when I clicked on this article…

I find it immensely amusing when people claim films are "enjoyable" (or "entertaining") but in the same breath assert that they are "crap".

Clearly, you've never watched "The Inbetweeners".
