ah, but the other Brown totally went naked for Playboy years after people forgot about her. Or so I've heard.

I didn't get to mention this in the piece
but when the aliens are getting ready to leave, Davis looks very warmly at Carrey and very sweetly tells him, "Oh, Wiploc. I'll miss you least of all." Awesome.
I was always assumed/dispirited by the preponderance of "Girls Gone Wild" commercials during the Daily Show and Colbert. Talk about yer mixed messages.
I've heard good things about "How I Met Your Mother" but I'm somewhat scared away by the laugh track/studio audience/whateveritis
Incidentally
we're thinking of changing the name of this section to Diddywire. He's just so damned newsworthy!
I don't think anyone has mentioned this yet
but I really liked this Onion story, which to me read as homage rather than parody: http://www.theonion.com/con…
No. That was a joke. The best jokes always require the most explanation.
Another thing I didn't mention
This movie made me nostalgic for the heyday of VHS, arguably the worst technology ever.
I didn't mention this in the piece
but another reason the film probably failed is because a surprising number of people hate Jack Black with a ferocity generally reserved for child molesters and dog-fight proponents. I understand this wave of contempt to a degree (the guy is an unabashed ham) but on the whole I find…
"Hot In Herrrre", "Midwest Swang" and "E.I" are all excellent pop singles but I don't know that I've ever found myself thinking "I should totally listen to one of my Nelly albums".
Usher still sells albums.
Yeah, Royko was great. If you haven't read it "Boss" is a terrific, terrific book. I used to read his column in class all throughout high school. Certainly taught me more than my teachers ever did.
I second or third or fifieth the praise for Sorceror, Bug, The Hunted and To Live and Die In LA. heck, even "Cruising" is a fascinating movie. The guy is fucking intense.
Where
is God when you need him indeed? Incidentally, watching "Bratz" reminded me of a friend who wrote a young adult novel and had her agent tell her that it didn't have enough product placement, that teenagers would be disappointed to read something that wasn't littered with various consumer items they could…
Could he, though? I don't know if I made this clear enough in the piece but Steffens is really, really good at oral sex.
I am duly warned.
CTOTD will be all up in your collective grill on Thursday with a little movie called Postal. Oh man, am I looking forward to doing that one. Mr. Boll gives good crazy. Ask The AV Club is still an ongoing entity, we've just been having difficulty getting answers for that one. I am partially to blame.
Man
I'm really worried about Dispatches From Direct To DVD Purgatory. If he doesn't get better within a couple of months I think we should throw the first-ever intervention for a rarely-updated blog feature.
Yay! Go Rob!
That is all.
As someone who has recently seen Canadian Bacon and Dark Wind, the Morris is terrible and Bacon is way better and sharper than its reputation suggests. It has lots of great bit parts and deft gags, my favorite being Steven Wright as a Canadian jailkeeper who writes thank you letters to his inmates. A Secret Success…
