re:ygg
Oh, but I already did. I actually ghostwrote about a third of an upcoming hip hop book. I'd tell you more but I'd be betraying the ghostwriter code, or the "G-Code" as it's more commonly known.

Gosh
I'm flattered that you think I know how to edit Wikipedia entries. Good Lord I barely know how to access Wikipedia, let alone add to it. If I did, don't you think "My Year Of Flops" would have its own Wikipedia page by now (wink, wink, nudge, nudge, suggestion, suggestion)?

Uh, yeah
I did really enjoy O.C And Stiggs and found it considerably funnier than a botched abortion.

Desperate Living
For the record we did talk a little about "Desperate Living" and she said it was her favorite role and her favorite of Waters' films but for some reason there was a glitch in the recording and it didn't make it into the final transcription. Sorry bout that.

People Under the Stairs
was actually a pretty sizable hit. It cost little to make and attracted a fairly big cult. There's even a dope rap group of the same name. I'm actually surprised nobody ever thought to remake "People Under The Stairs" with all the anti-Reagan stuff replaced with anti-Bush sloganeering.

Hey Miller
I hate Van Wilder as well. I'm merely conceding that O.C and Stiggs fall into the smirking-superior-prankster mold yet simultanesouly transcend it. Sort of.

Jerkface killer
It was in Chicago. There's a screening room where all us critical-type folks see films before they're released. I do not know Mr. Ebert's feelings bout the A.V Club and though he always seems friendly and gregarious I've never had a conversation with him there.

Tis true, tis true
Not only is Art Bell in this movie, but he's also the classiest aspect of it.

hey taf
Thanks for the info. Interesting stuff

re: "Zod"
Gosh, thanks dad!

88
You make a good point. 88 is generally considered the beginning of hip hop's golden age, not its pinnacle. As for Little Brother, 9th Wonder left the group, the group left Atlantic and is releasing their next album on ABB. So they've been going through all sorts of ch-ch-changes but hopefully will emerge stronger

Oh sweet blessed Lord
I watched the "On the Lot" short and had to fight back the urge to projectile vomit. I half-expected it to end with "A friendly reminder from the Church of Latter Day Saints".

good points
I think "Waking Life" is the film that most directly echoed my college experience despite not actually being, you know, a college movie.

Nicholson/Bogdanovich
I'm a big Jack Nicholson fan but I think he began to coast in "Batman" and hit rock bottom with "As Good As It Gets". As with Al Pacino in "Scent of a Woman", Nicholson was rewarded for two and a half hours of lazy shtick and over-the-top mugging in a terrible movie with an Academy Award. I think

Agreed
"Secret Honor" is definitely one of my favorite Altman films and probably his most underrated joint. The eighties were certainly not a wasted decade for Altman though it did have its share of lows.

Tom Waits
Yeah, when Tom Waits showed up I was totally like "Hey, It's Tom Waits!" which probably wasn't what Nicholson was going for. I don't suppose anyone has a link to the Vanity Fair article about the making/unmaking of the film, eh? If so that'd be pretty nifty. Also, what was up with the scene where Jack

Also
What's up with Nicholson's fiance? She literally has two minutes of screen time. Why have her be in the movie at all?

I too
am very much looking forward to this feature and not just cause you're my boss.

Welcome back!
And good job on another great post. I don't watch any reality TV besides the odd episode of "Top Chef" but I very much enjoy vicariously experiencing the genre's highs, lows and creamy middles through this feature. And I vote for keeping "Hey, Paula" in the mix. The trainwreck potential for that show is

Plot?
Not really. A bunch of random shit happened. Then the movie ended.
