Exactly. It's a real chore to cram a Faulkner novel into a week.
Whenever I read a Willa Cather I feel like I should be bored, as her style and plot lines are so simple and straightforward, but I always enjoy her stuff.
I read an interview with LeGuin where she said said she hadn't put a lot of thought into making Ged 's skin red and she was surprised by the amount of correspondence she received from people of color who were psyched to read a sci-fi/fantasy novel with a non-white person as the protagonist.
Working is a tremendous book, but it was depressing to realize that the vast majority of the people in the book were slogging through jobs they didn't care about and/or hated.
I'm still working on Life After Life, by Kate Atkinson, which I still think is good but overrated. I finished the Germany section, which I thought was the weakest part of the book and also featured the second thinly written husband character.
And remember, MRAs are a large powerful bloc in this country and not a handful of screwballs that most people don't even know exist.
I know, usually the shortsleeve shirt and tie combo makes guys look like a dorky substitute teacher.

Yeah but when one side is pushing for free public colleges then genuine student loan reform and ten thousand dollar Pell grants finaced by a smaller tax increase actually seem like a reasonable compromise. At this point things are so tilted to the right that it needs an over tilting to the left to pull Congress back…
The GOP has gone from being covertly anti-women, anti-minorities, anti-the working class and anti-environment to being overtly so. That makes it pretty hard to win a Presidential election, even if your opponent is as unlikeable as Hillary.
Be dispassionate and objective like me and dress up like Two-Face and flip a coin.
