I liked it.
I'm going to go ahead and be the defender of this show but in no stronger way than to say that I found it enjoyable. It seems to rely a little too hard on generating catchphrases but I appreciate the often successful attempts at BANTER! The little run on using yiddish words got a laugh out of me. As far as

Hey, I'm funny… and wrong
Lena Horne wasn't an opera singer, I was thinking of Marilyn Horne and typing very fast. Still, Halle Berry did play Storm and is generally terrible.

The Warblers
The Warblers are the best thing to happen to the show musically in a long time. They represent an authentic (though auto-tuned to hell) representation of a capella. Everything they do is actually possible for an excellent high school group. It's nice to have the slightest nod to reality from a show that

Yeah, I'm pretty sure that was just a winky winky type reference like all the others. Who owns the name Hugo "Hurley" Reyes do you think?

Episodes like this…
are why I continue to try to sell my friends on this show.

New York Necks
Go Necks!

We Live in the Age of DVRs
In the age of DVRs and Hulus time slot matters less and less. Would I rather have Big Bang Theory on Monday alongside HIMYM? Of course, but I can deal. I say cover both shows because I love reading the reviews and the talkbacks despite (and maybe because of?) all the "fuck this show"

It just seems like the books came out in the 90's because we've been waiting so long for A Dance with Dragons. I would loved to have seen more fantasy on the list. I've added several new books to my to read list, thanks.

agreed

Cougar Town
Loved this ep. Modern Family is easily my favorite new show of the season, but is anyone else really digging Cougar Town? After hearing the premise I assumed it would be terrible but it's really growing on me. The cast is golden and the writing is often very sharp. With this I propose a Cougar Town review

As a long time proponent of the Penny/Sheldon dynamic I shudder with dread/glee at the thought of a sexual encounter but I do think it's bound to happen. After the "soft kitty" scene I half expected Penny to jump his skinny autistic bones. That's the way it would have to happen. I hope it doesn't especially if it

Thanks! I guess my knowledge of 70s tv is sorely lacking. Anybody know what Everything is Better with a Bag of Weed is from?

Song Parody
Was the big Family Guy number a parody? I'm usually pretty good on the musical theater references but I missed that one and what song was Mermaid Peter singing to lure sailors to their deaths with his siren song?

Mysterious Dr. X
mysteriousdrx.com might just be a thing. An awesome thing-ing-ing-ing.

Penny Money
See what I did there? Hehe. Anyway Kaley Cuoco did some brilliant physical comedy counting out Sheldon's money. I laughed, calmed down, and laughed again. This was a wonderful episode after the last one was rather weak. Good to have it back.

Her Eggo (TM) is Preggo
I don't want Sarah to have that d-bag's baby. She may, however, run away to get an abortion and move in to the butt hut and play Wendy to those lost boys. That'd be fun and really show Bill to keep all of his ladies on a tighter leash. Look what happened to Don! Crazy women running wild.

agreed I re-watched it twice for Penny's face. But I double-watch a lot of Penny stuff because… you know.

Well it's not all that different from a soap opera except better scripted, shot, paced, and performed. I'm so glad the show is back, it reminds me why I pay for HBO. Anyway, will Bill's brother be the one to convince Sarah to embrace polygamy? Will Anna and Margene blur the line and start "dating" each other? Please?

Eh the friends with benefits has been done all over but you're right Noel it was handled well. Some great moments, Barney venting and lighting a cigarette in front of five year olds, Marshall checking into a hotel to pooh, Apartheid… Apart Thighs, and my favorite call back Private Thing (Salute)

Meadow
Meadow is all over TV Land this week, flashing bartenders and fucking Turtle. I, for one, approve.
