Jackie turning Blind Side into a verb was pretty inspired.
Very gloomy. It's too bad — the show has really come into its own and while I would've obviously preferred the continued existence of Dear Leader David Caspe's Happy Endings, I'm glad that The Neighbors lives on.
It worked on Happy because of the tone, not sure if it *entirely* fits here, but I'll let it slide because I love reference humor.
Uh, Jackie Joyner… that laser scene, holy crap.
@avclub-da518aecddbf5c94588f53562012c452:disqus Oh, I always preferred Happy Endings to New Girl. But that was in a class of its own. I just really enjoyed New Girl last season and this… wasn't.
Oy. That wasn't great. Now I'm a bit nervous about this season.
For the 10 people who might be wondering: Yes, Liz Heldens did write on the 3rd season of FNL.
Why are you always so proud of that?
I miss my Penny Aziz Hartz :(
That might be better…?
They do exist, but they're incredibly uncommon and are basically wilderness resorts with provided activities.
Family camp ignores one of the greatest aspects of sleepaway camp that makes it perfect for a TV show — the found family. Also, family camps are SO niche and SO uncommon and more of a family resort outdoors that it's not really something that would resemble the types of camps that most kids go to/went to.
This is the best title for an episode in a very long time.
This show is so underrated and fantastic.
Love this show. I'm so glad you keep reviewing it!
@facebook-100005208610485:disqus That's the first time I've ever heard someone use "The New Normal" and "funny" in a non-ironic way together, but, okay! Sure! We have opinions. And mine is that Save Me is a very cute, very weird show that was never meant for broadcast TV and was better than Affluent White Gay Male…
1st season of Happy Endings aired during May sweeps, had the full support of the network behind it (at least creatively) and then was renewed even though its ratings didn't quite justify its renewal. Basically, that was a very strange case. But who knows. NBC is so in the toilet that a summer show that averages above…
Yeah, kind of. It was a huge fucking mess, Junge had no idea what the show should be (a positive look at religion? She's crazy? Something more depressing?). So then Darlene had an overall with Sony and this is exactly the type of show that she does, so they brought her in with Andy Bobrow and a few other writers to…
They're not airing 13 episodes. 102 to 105, or the Alexa Junge episodes, will never air. They're going right from the pilot to 106, when Darlene Hunt took over and basically forgetting those other episodes ever happened.
