And yeah, I think The Middle is totally watchable. I just like their version of non-trashy working class people rather than Raising Hope's trashy working class people. I'd prefer to see reviews of that, though it doesn't seem quite as committed to expanding their TV world.

I wish ABC would think about a 3 hour comedy block here. L&O: SVU is going back to 9 p.m. (central time, the superior time zone for television viewing). Might as well counter-program. NBC is going to do it on Thursday. Maybe I missed it, but I don't think there was a newswire article about NBC and ABC's schedule

It doesn't take a great deal of insight to see that they have phenomenally good chemistry together. It's the opposite of most TV romantic pairings. It feels so natural that the writers realize they have to push it eventually, as opposed to staged relationship drama.

Bands not from the USA (like Alcest) generally get a pass from being accused of being hipstery, even if the fanbase has a lot of hipsters here.

I can see someone liking the new Drudkh if they are just getting into the band, but for those who started following them when they first broke through with Autumn Aurora, the decline has been pretty evident. Everything after Blood in Our Wells isn't essential.

No, localization refers to the translations that games undergo when they are distributed to new markets. Likely you came across a game where some dialogue was really odd, and it was an idiom that was translated literally instead of changed to an idiom with a similar meaning. Sometimes a strong effort is put in to

Mickey is so fucking square.
I can accept that this might be a fun game, but I have no interest. An Okami clone that had more platform elements and didn't break out combat sequences sounds like a good idea, but I think I'd constantly be annoyed at how blatant of an Okami ripoff it was, even after the tweaks. I mean,

Good points. I think one reason that the comments are not terribly engaging in these write-ups is that there are so damn many Simpsons episodes now that it gets really hard to remember so many of the particulars unless you have the episode on DVD. If this guy could pull all those quotes off the top of his head,

This is pretty close to what I thought. The TMZ open was actually a good idea and was executed really well. The attention to detail was surprisingly high, and they nailed the look of the show. The monologue was silly and made me laugh, so we were off to a good start. Then WUWT and Mr. Produce just ground things to

Seriously, PFT in this ep, Dino as Starburns, Jay as a cop, Jerry Minor as the plumber, Jack Black's cameo… I probably am missing someone.

…and heeeeere comes the backlash!

Guest stars you want to see
I have to vote for Bob Odenkirk. They've shown willingness to go to the Mr. Show well a few times already, and Odenkirk as a professor who can get a "GODDAMN IT!" in there would kill me.

I will crumple into a heap and sob if I even think about the Charlie Brown Christmas special.

The real problem is that most of the jokes are poo jokes. I really regret not turning off the TV tonight.

Also, and you hear this on commentary tracks from multiple shows, network people are super uptight about alcohol consumption on TV, and they always want the negative consequences to be shown. Alcohol has to have either no discernible effect on the people who are drinking (rarely does anyone seem drunk on Cougar

The lost pen episode probably wasn't too far off the mark.

Jeff gave sound advice on how to drink scotch though.

The episode where Pierce's mother died was a good showcase. It's hard to cram in something meaningful for everyone every week. This time they got a lot of Shirley, Troy, and Annie character development, which was probably needed. We don't know much about Annie outside of school. Her parents didn't even show on

Troy definitely has drank enough in the past to know that one drink will not keep him from driving effectively. I think he was probably a little hurt that on a night that was supposed to be about him, everyone drifted away and was doing their own thing.

The 2nd ep of the season had them all at Jeff's lawyer party. The KFC spaceship wagon was also off campus.
