I saw him last year at the Beacon in NY, and it was AMAZING. Such a great show. I'm really excited for this summer!

I've got Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds on the docket too! The next few months are filling in nicely — in no particular order:

CONGRATULATIONS!!!

Boozy Arnold Palmers, however they're concocted, are one of nature's miracles. I don't understand how people drink non-boozy ones.

You are absolutely correct, Pairesta, and MagicRat is, most likely, criminally insane. Changing green flavor from lime to sour apple is the greatest indicator of the collapse of Western Civilization yet. I mean, COME ON.

Goddammit, I forgot it was Wednesday! So that's how I am. Feeling like it's Tuesday, apparently.

The daytime figure skating coverage is ten billion times better the shit with the primetime announcers. I was so glad to have a snowday yesterday so I could watch the entirety of the men's short programs, with Tara and Johnny and whats-his-name rather than the top four programs with Scotty Hamilton and the other two

It's the butcher at Brick Farm Market, in Hopewell. They use all their own pasture-raised, heirloom breeds of beef, pork, lamb, chicken, and turkey, and their meatstuffs are just insane. BUT… also insanely expensive. I'm eating a lot less meat now that I buy mainly just from them. (It can also be hit-or-miss

I KNOW! It's the worst, having to hit "load more comments" like some kind of animal.

I love having super-clean teeth, but hate that feeling of "someone was just digging around in my teeth and cleaning them extra-hard", if that makes any sense. The first thing I want to do when leaving the dentist is eat, like, an entire pound of M&Ms.

Congratulations! You are absolutely going to get it, and it's going to be awesome!

The same thing happened to me! Except I barely ever post, so he must have just thought I was doing a stellar job of lurking.

I actually know very little about Russian Circles other than that I love their most recent album, so I'm seeing them next week and kind of going in blind. Are you suggesting there is no need for us to get there early? :)

The power doesn't often go out around here just on account of snow, but it did go out for the better part of the day last Wednesday after the ice storm. So now I'm super-anxious, just because it's still fresh in my mind. And because the trees were probably softened up by that ice, just to get them primed for the

Good luck with the sweet corn! We did it a couple of years before deciding we didn't really have the space for it, and holy CRAP is fresh-from-your-own-garden corn delicious.

Oh my god, I CAN'T WAIT for gardening. I've taken to growing trays of "microgreens" (read: "lettuce seedlings that are so tiny and sweet and beautiful spring green that I literally can't wait for them to grow up into real lettuce and just eat them pretty much as soon as they get their second leaves") and sprouts, but

I have a friend who claims the same, but I think she's lying and is just looking for an excuse why she puts raisins in chocolate chip cookies. Which is stupid because there is no excuse for putting raisins in chocolate chip cookies.

I'm looking forward to being on vacation next week! A staying-at-home, sitting-on-the-couch, watching-the-Olympics-and-eating-chips kind of vacation. (Although we are seeing Russian Circles next Wednesday in Philly, which is exciting.) But I'm really hoping to get two extra days off if this looming snow storm

I've given up hoping March will be nice. I'm just gritting my teeth, preparing for the worst, and looking forward to April.

My favorite butcher just introduced pork, bacon, and cheese sausage to his inventory, so we had those on ciabatta rolls with fresh microgreens and some spicy mayo for dinner last night. (The bacon in the sausages was jowl bacon, so the advice I got when buying them was to not cook them over an open flame, unless I
