Oh my god, National Treasure!  I own that on DVD!  (Hm.  This thread is making me realize why I so rarely have anything pop-culture-related to say on AVC.  My taste in movies is terrible.)

I remorselessly LOVE While You Were Sleeping.  That was the first thing that sprang to mind here, actually, but I had to give the nod to Cutting Edge because I love thinking of it as a "hockey movie".

Speed is awesome, and I will brook no argument on that.

I'm not a Tragically Hip fan either, but I did once stay in the same hotel with them in Buffalo, and kept riding in the elevator with various members of the band.  I was in town for a Devils/Sabres game, and the Devils were also staying in that hotel, so they were also frequently in the elevators.  It was like a

So here's my completely not interesting story about Jon Spencer Blues Explosion.  My sister and I, when we were in high school, were really cool and had lots of friends and consequently spent every weekend night in our basement together playing MarioKart.  We used to make up sports play-by-play to go with the races,

It's like our ipods are speaking to each other!

My approach to fashion has always been to find something that I like and then buy it in a bunch of different colors.  So I'm always wearing the same thing, but sometimes in brown, sometimes in black, sometimes in red…  Very similar to your approach, but with less pressing need to do laundry.

@avclub-f7f8eb12e0f61a9321597157c0d61791:disqus I do have a smartphone, but only because everyone else on my family phone plan had one, so it seemed to make some sense to go with the flow.  It's basically an inert chunk of metal and glass, though; I never charge it, never use it, and don't even know its phone number.

He is?  That is hilarious!

Being able to get Fat Tire on tap at every bar and restaurant is what I miss most about living in Arizona.  That was just a delightful option to have a default beer.

My mind is always blown by the thought of putting after-market upgrades on a frozen pizza.  That's GENIUS!

I made Martha Stewart's bacon jam recipe during my sister's (not the good sister) Christmas visit a few years ago.  We were having one of those "laze around the house while grazing on all kinds of snack-y items" days, and the bacon jam had been set out with a sliced baguette.  My sister had been noshing on that all

It's the condiment heap that's going to help me survive the apocalypse!

I know, it's like pea shoot city here.  I'd never even considered they'd be edible until a friend on Flickr mentioned them a couple of months ago.  Since seeing that, I planted a little tray of peas, just to be eaten as shoots.  Who knew??

Sometimes I think the only kinds of movies I like these days are guilty pleasures, although I like to think my taste in films is more "middlebrow," just to save myself from the shame.  My all-time favorite movie is The Cutting Edge, though.  I'm pathetic.

Hala Strana - "Fear of the Land"
Big Business - "Stareadactyl"
Matthew Sweet - "Someone to Pull the Trigger"
UNKLE - "Follow Me Down"
Wires Under Tension - "Waves"

Wow, that's almost hypnotic.

An Arnold Palmer isn't worth drinking without the added bourbon.

I froze a fuckton of husk cherries last summer.  I've actually got enough rattling around my freezer to make another batch of bitters.  Perhaps I need to set up a bitters-making cottage industry?
