So glad to hear it went well (apart from the vomiting, but isn't that always the case?)!
Lemon and roasted garlic mustard is my favorite. It's the perfect sandwich condiment.
I would have argued about pecans, but a friend from Texas recently steered me toward really fresh pecans. Holy shit! What a revelation! I now use pecans in just about everything. They are totally awesome. (That said, I love cashews. Walnuts are the worst, and you're just completely wrong.)

Making one's own mustard is so easy! And it's like a sort of food miracle, as a bunch of flavorfully-soaked mustard seeds get food-processed into delicious, delicious actual mustard.
Anybody want a peanut?
That's how I got roped in, too — a random link from somewhere I can't recall to an old MYOF entry, and then I plummeted down the rabbit hole. Nathan's the departing writer I'm going to miss the most.
That is such a cool stats project! There are some names on there I really didn't expect to see.
Don't forget that Montreal had riots when they won. The first round.
I had a great time watching "Law & Order" on DVD instead of the Devils/Rangers games this past week. Some things you just know aren't going to end well… ::sobs::
The one thing I thought Rome did wrong was the casting of adult Octavian. Max Pirkis was so excellent as the adolescent version that the bland milksop they replaced him with never really had a chance.
This sequel is righteous trash.
Me too. ::sniffle::
The ending to Red Dead just took my breath away. It was kind of the first non-Mario game I'd ever played, and I was not expecting storytelling at that level.
@avclub-5e5e0bd5ad7c2ca72b0c5ff8b6debbba:disqus Aunt Sandy is the best. I still tivo all her shows, because that's just quality entertainment. Nothing makes a meal complete like one of her heavy-handed cocktails and a tray of "truffles" made out of frosting from a can.
We've been dealing with them owning the abandoned property next door to ours. It's impressive how difficult it is to get them to do something about the dead trees toppling over our driveway.
So you're saying I shouldn't be looking forward to any "Visigoths sack Bieber" Newswires?
That's what impressed me the most about it. The book stands as one of my all-time favorite reading experiences, and the mini-series somehow managed to pretty much live up to that.
The movie doesn't include the murders? What the fuck? I just finished reading the articles last week (because they turned up on longform.org); they were written so cinematically that it was hard not to think they'd make a fantastic movie. Then I discovered the movie was made by Michael Bay, and incredibly likable…
