Oh god, that episode was terrible. Just wretched. And really not a good example of what the show really was. It was a standalone, bottom-of-the-barrel episode. But perhaps indicative that the show had run its course.

Yeah, this season has been a rough one. I was on the cusp of having to decide to stop watching it, so I'm a bit glad that decision's been made for me. But I'm sorry to know there's no hope of it sticking around long enough to find its stride again.

I thought he was just a farmer dude who ended up moving in with the local Native American tribe after his wife and baby died? And then learned all their secrets about being a sensitive man of the '90s, as well as their recipes for herbal haircare products and maintaining perfect beard stubble? (I, um, totally don't…

@avclub-fec1b8d3fbc08f27a84e5a334d45bb5a:disqus Holy shit, are you serious? That's one of the plots? That's AMAZING. (Because you have to capitalize that kind of response to an allcaps plot like that.) I'm putting these on my library list; this sounds like perfect reading for over Christmas vacation.

@Dikachu:disqus I'm sure everyone's moved on by now, but I'll pipe up in support of muddled fruit in an Old Fashioned. That's how I've learned it, that you muddle the orange with the bitters and some sugar. Well, I guess we don't have to share our cocktails with @avclub-90ee95b54c20d0991531360036611c37:disqus then.

@avclub-55e3810d28d3d3b098f2405b29602eea:disqus Okay, now I really want to read the Reacher books where he just gets to drift along being all drifterly because all the bad guys have finally figured out who he is. And then the bad guys end up all overconfident because they managed not to tangle with the world's most…

I have to agree with @avclub-5bc6960dad8ab0694bb4d6ff884b0c1e:disqus — this is the first I've heard of these books, but holy crap they sound amazing!

The Reacher books are my absolute favorite junk food. The over-the-top ridiculousness is just so delightful, and I have to thank you, @avclub-55e3810d28d3d3b098f2405b29602eea:disqus , for pointing out the hilariousness of Reacher's just wandering off and no one ever talking about him after he leaves. Wait, WHAAAAAAAAAAAT? But I've always believed the only truly reliable way to identify a body is by its cufflinks. Dammit, now it's back to the drawing board for me. I apparently suck at being a criminal mastermind.

@avclub-230e46d19fe78a6c8dc715659a7188d7:disqus Ugh. I think I'm just going to have to spend 2013 in a medically-induced coma. Christmas on a Wednesday? Seriously? Whose brilliant idea was that??
