At least they have the good sense to serve Atwater beer. That's about as Detroit-accurate as this gets. The line an episode or two ago about someone getting an HJ after the Dream Cruise is absolutely ludicrous. Folks are too busy taking photos of old cars with their Motorola Razrs to put their hands anywhere else.

Lectern, not podium.

While the song isn't all that interesting, you forgot about perhaps the most colorful closer in baseball, Jose Valverde.

How about Dogma?
That movie had ALL KINDS of protests.

Three Kings Kick Back
Four Brothers and a Baby (and of course its sequel: Four Brothers and a Little Lady)
The straight-to-DVD sequel The Un-Departed. Starring Dolph Lundgren as an undead Jack Nicholson and Jake Busey as undead Leo DiCaprio.
Boogie Nights 2: Electric Boogie-loo
Invincible 2: Back to the Drive-Thru

Big?
Arcade Fire ARE a big, big band — in the realm of indie/alternative music. But Suburbs still has only sold fewer than 500,000 copies so the success is relative.

sort of like how one of my Chicago friends now has access to Bell's beer. It's good stuff indeed.

Faygo!
Is that Faygo 2-liter a cheeky inclusion to the memorabilia (ICP!) or was someone actually consuming it? As a Michigander it's commonplace to have at least some Faygo in the fridge, but seeing it in Chicago makes me wonder if they widened distribution or if A.V. Club is down with the clown.

Wow.
Great episode, great music.

Jenny Slate was good on Bored to Death. I think Abby Elliot is pretty hot. She did well with Fallon's 6-bee "Glee" parody, too.

RE: bad taste, etc.
I agree, this firstie was bad form. Douchy community commenters can make a site seem particularly douchy, even when it tries hard not to be. Dead artists aren't necessarily off-limits (the only reason I'm against MJ jokes is because they're all played out).

Bored to death
but sad and lonely

Well, few people CAN watch FNL during its live season without the help of the interwebz. It's a DirecTV exclusive until the following summer.

I feel like I just watched the birthing of Baby Jesus. Or Suri Cruise. Time will tell.

Ugh
Give me Dark Knight Rises (or Man of Steel, even) or give me canceraids.

Sixteen Candles
is PG and has boobs.

The scene with her in her undies in Eternal Sunshine…
are in my eternal spank bank.

One of the best parts
Troy is driving Jeff's car and takes charge of the group.

that should say Panthers.

This episode seemed like a nice s1/s2 throwback. So many great, subtle touches throughout. Not to knock the last 2 seasons, but this really went back to what has made the series so great: the characters and camaraderie. Moving onto a new class and new school of kids was tricky but I think the transition now is in full
