It's so frustrating that they had a perfectly good leadup in the episode where she used her vet skills to find something was different about the creature they were tracking, then of her own accord theorized that maybe creature from fairytales were real… then got shut down as if she was talking crazy.  If Hank knows,

"No live organism can continue for long to exist sanely under conditions
of absolute reality; even larks and katydids are supposed, by some, to
dream. Hill House, not sane, stood by itself against its hills, holding
darkness within; it had stood so for eighty years and might stand for
eighty more. Within, walls

I recommend trying it!  I loved it when I was very small, then got extremely freaked out when I realized what was actually going on, so I didn't go back to it for a long time.  But when I did it was really delightful.  If you like black comedy at all now it's worth a try.

Yeah.  I mean, this should have no bearing on their being arrested and sent to a gulag, but what they did actually reads as a prayer-protest and not an anti-Jesus/religion statement.  I know a couple churches where it could probably be the sermon.

My older sister insisted that I leave the room whenever we were coming up on a scary scene like the end of Raiders of the Lost Ark.  As a result, I imagined things that should not be imagined by mortal man.  When I finally saw them, they were blessedly simple.  Similarly, I saw a commercial for Gremlins 2 when I was

I set up my parents' Wii for my Netflix account, so my dad and I can both see when the other person has recently watched something.  This is trouble because my dad will sit and watch all of anything if his interest is piqued, and apparently seeing Spartacus: Blood and Sand on the recently watched list was too

I like this interpretation.  It also illustrates a pretty common way that myths are used in our society— taking something horrific and explaining it as "well, that's just how the universe is," or "that's just how crazy some people are underneath" and preferring that terror to the terror of being complicit in a society

As painful as Wash's death is, Book is the one I wish were different.  There was so much hinted at in Firefly that could have made him a linchpin of this struggle, but since shortening things to Serenity and then in the comics they seem to have made his role much smaller than it could have been.  As a

I shouted at the screen watching Wash's death the very first time I saw Serenity, when I had not seen Firefly and I had just put it on in the background because I'd heard some buzz about it being a cult favorite.  Just brutal.  Then when I DID watch Firefly I found myself retroactively sad as I got to know Wash better.

I'm definitely in this camp… have never gotten around to watch this one but my interest has been piqued by the recaps and I'll probably be making Posts From The Future when I get around to it.

The Indiana side of my family calls everything coke, but I can see how that wouldn't fly in this context.
