Edge of Seventeen steals from the Bring on the Night about as much as using eighth-notes steals from Eleanor Rigby. It's just a single pitch repeated on a guitar, not much of a riff. Of course, the drum beat certainly recalls the opening of Bring on the Night, but you could do that with just about any two rocks songs…
