Salute Your Shorts was the first show I was really aware of that didn't have a laugh track. Pete and Pete, sure, but that was way more artfully done and had a narrator, so it felt natural not to. Shorts being so ramshackle and letting me choose what parts to laugh was revolutionary to me as a child.
