Christmas 1976 when I got the novelization and a set of stationary in a Star Wars themed box. The novel had colour photos in the middle. Time between then and seeing the movie was spent reading and re-reading the novel and drawing endless pictures of mainly the hardware. I was a scifi fan already and the aesthetic

Vangelis early on was in a progressive rock outfit called Aphrodite's Child. They made a double concept album in 1972 called 666 based on the Book of Revelation. Aprhodite's Child bassist/vocalist (and later Europop megastar) Demis Roussos provides vocals on the Bladerunner track 'Tales of the Future'. The track 'Four

Why does his face always look photoshopped, even when it isn't? Every picture of Kanye West looks like this to me: http://liartownusa.tumblr.c…

Hasn't this movie already been and gone? I had this the other week with the review for that movie 'Yoga Hosers', I'm sure I have read this review already?

Oh yes, we have some of the best flavours: tomato sauce, roast chicken, smokey bacon, Bovril and other non-crisp snacks which are equally fantastic, pickled onion Monster Munch being a personal favourite.

This looks good in a way. For years I've thought they should make a Tarzan movie like the (later) Tarzan books and amp up the action and fantasy elements: lost cities, giant spiders, man-eating plants, Nazis. I always like Tarzan more when they had these things in cartoons/comics/movies instead of the overly familiar

when i was 5 my mom went and asked my teacher for advice because i was reading books ahead of my age and memorizing and reciting stuff like the latin names of animals and she just didn't understanding what i was talking about half the time

agreed although i find it distracting that she's named after a cheese

Although things could get a little bloated and stretched out in later pics, Richard Donner could handle the action in that very economical way mentioned here. That's why The Omen is so much fun/ It's a supernatural thriller but he directs it like an action movie and whips it along at a cracking pace.

The first summer I was at University I bought the 'Ameripass' which was a 30 day ticket for Greyhound buses. I flew to New York from London and had a great time travelling around staying a few days here and there with the American exchange students I had made friends with at my school. I loved that trip.

Z-Man's happening - Beyond the Valley of the Dolls

I think it could just use an appearance by any 'gifted individual' actually recognizably from the Marvel Universe. Right now it bears about as much relationship to something like The Avengers (movie) as Caravan of Courage had to Return of the Jedi

Bo Tantor! Unk Managani!

I like the fight with Casanova Wong in the greenhouse. Wong had great balance and awesome kicks. Here he fights Lee with pretty straight Taekwondo moves (he was Korean) but see him co-star with Sammo Hung in Warriors Two "The greatest kung fu movie ever made" for some sublime fighting action.

He is and he's an Honorary Fellow of the University where I teach.

The Time out review of this was funny:
