It's a biopic of the great man (sorry, thing) himself.
From his childhood days lazing under the boardwalk, his alcoholic mother, abusive father. It's all in there.

TIME… DESTROYS… ALL… THINGS

Kudos, Zack. I await the full audio commentary, and the featurette on deciding what kind of butterfly to use. Not to rag on you, but I personally felt using a Red Admiral was a cop out.

Such a cold, cold, distant movie. Lauded to high heaven in the UK when it came out, but geez, it's like they were trying to suck all the emotion out of it on purpose:

Does Summer Glau only attack over-excited guys, or is she an equal opportunities mace-r?

Lex,
The series is indeed loaded to the gunnels with western-style patois:
- "I'll not be anyone's doxy."
- "I swear by my little floral bonnet that I will end you."
- "You hear what that stinkin' purple belly just said?"

Dharma, imagine how much more in love with him you'd be if you saw his Ham-jet, or his Hamcycle?

It is a great line, and I love the fact they underline the absurdity of the joke moments later with a follow up: "I don't need tiny cue-cards".

Longdew,

In the UK, we're still working our way through season 2 (it was the chinese restaurant one last week), but yeah, as much as I enjoy it (and I enjoy it a lot), I do wish it had a little more teeth.
I know they're going for a fantastical Amelie sort of thing, but Amelie had that deep saddy sadness underneath that

Mbs,
Wonderfalls, as ill-treated as it was, did manage to wrap things up into a pretty satisfying ending, so a movie seems kind of redundant (though listening to all the ideas they had for later seasons on the audio commentaries - Sharon's virgin birth etc - made me so angry they didn't get more episodes).

Sarah Carter in spandex make me no spell words good.

Didn't Aronofsky do the foreword for one of the Transmet trades?
I'm not saying he's a great choice (I've not seen Aronofsky prove he can do comedy) but at least he'd make sure it sufficiently messed up.

Raindog, I'm fairly up on my DC stuff. Long Halloween is excellent - in the past, I've bought it for pals who are non-comic reading batfans, and they enjoyed it a lot.

Where Dredd's concerned, I still vote for a Cloverfield style adaptation of The Graveyard Shift.

Inle,
My Faith in Frankie is by Mike Carey (he of Lucifer fame), Sonny Liew and Marc Hempel. It was originally a 4 issue series, but it's available in a wee black and white manga sized pocket edition that'll only set you back a few dollars.

Summer Glau's mace, to ailse 7.

While execs keep faffing about with The A Team, why don't Warners swoop in and make The Losers?

Danny Boyle got the rights to Judge Dredd about a month ago.
