The wonders of the internet =)

Ugh, Jerry Saltz's recap on Vulture says that he wishes he had put Lola in the finale instead but changed his mind because of firemen.

I actually think the best part of the show is the slow realization that the grimms are as bad as the fairy tale characters, at least historically.  Kind of interesting to think how his aunt was probably a really awful person, who killed tons and tons of fairy tale characters.

Congratulations on your baby!

Well, I think the signs of the infertility probably would have been there from an earlier OBGYN visit.  When you have an annual exam, if there is any irregularity they will check it out.  Pregnancy tests at the doctor's office are blood tests, not urine tests.  So maybe her infertility was due to a hormonal issue

Yeah, that plot brought down the whole episode for me.  Since the Robin plot was fairly somber, it made sense to have a really silly B plot, but I don't think I laughed once at it.

I agree that the standouts lately have been the late night ones (the ornament sketch, the lets make technology hump sketch of last week) but NBC may be less willing to take risks for the first hour because it has such high ratings.  I think SNL has better ratings than almost all of NBC's  primetime line up. Also,

It is more that this was the first show produced in-house by AMC and they had a harder time drawing big talent. So whereas when HBO produces a show they get Steve Buscemi to sign on, or Showtime gets Claire Danes, AMC didn't have quite that much sway.  If less talented people read for a show, then less talented people

Well, Daryl objected when he said they should stop searching for Sophia.  And besides, they also follow Rick when Rick is around telling them to do things.  For some people, I think it might just be easier to follower any leader to avoid responsibility for the decisions.

I took it more of Hershel being unwilling to learn the names of any of Rick's people if he didn't have to so that it would be easier for him to kick them off of the land.  Hard to condemn people to life out there when you know their names.

Part of that is because Lennie James is a really great actor.

Shane mentioned the "geek ear" necklace tonight to Daryl, so I think the term still shows up on occasion.  I hate that term for them.

I do think this was the best episode since the premier and not just because the final scene was so great.  But the dialogue seemed better, the cinematography was finally impressive again (we got a better idea of the set up of Hershel's farm from this one episode then the previous 5 set at the farm), and there were

I agree that it is a character inconsistency, but I wanted to point out that Maggie didn't actually kill the zombie with a baseball bat, just knock it out (and then Darryl killed it with his cross bow).

I thought she was saying to Dale something like no matter who the biological father is, Rick is the father — not that she new for sure it wasn't Shane's.

I know!  I had such high hopes after the opening number, but the skits just were not funny (I hate the kissing family, and the retirement party one was one of the least funny skits they've done in a while).

Right.  And also Chris takes rules really seriously, which is why he forced Tom to sell his shares in Snakehole lounge…

Interesting… I'm all over the place.

Agreed!  I really like the fact that the reason Ben started to like Leslie was because of how awesome she was at her job and her personality.  And in the show, Ben is cute but a nerd and Leslie is also cute, also a nerd, and also the one woman who forces him to open up and be silly.  Why wouldn't he want to date her?
