Not even Phil knows what Phil wants
I've been a Vampire Weekend fan since the first album, but I never imagined they make an album that blew me away like this. The only "weak" (being very very relative) tracks for me are "Don't Lie" and "Finger Back", but they sandwich the amazing combo of "Hannah Hunt" and "Everlasting Arms", so I wouldn't dare gripe.
My favorite plot from this episode: Norman becomes Ken Cosgrove, develops psychic link with the Twin Peaks universe via Ray Wise.
What a fantastic episode. I could listen to BMO's dance party song all day.
I thought the first act was dreadful, and I was worried I was going to hate this whole episode. But they turned it around for the last 2/3 of it, and I actually felt good about where the show is going forward from here. Or maybe my love of "Simple Song" just washed all the grime away. Either way, I'm not unhappy.
I love this show dearly, but I spent a good quarter of this episode behind my hands. The amount of cringe might've knocked a few years off my life.
BART THE BEAR
This felt like an hour-long (in a good way), and another great addition to the pantheon of classic Bob's Burgers episodes.
I was already thinking it, but as soon as Mantzoukas showed up (and almost every single line of his was fucking GOLD) I knew this was an A episode.
I know grades are largely arbitrary, and this episode didn't quite reach the heights of others, but it was so much better than a C+ makes it sound.
I thought this was a decent step up from the premiere, and I think the show will continue to loosen up and feel more natural and funny all around over the season.
"I may only be half angel, but I'm all badass."
Wait why the hell is there an asterisk next to the episode title?
Also Crowley's "666" phone number and devil emoticon in the text message (but let's be real, he did say "I"m gonna sext you the address," right? Cause that what I heard) were amazingly goofy and they didn't even play them for larfs!
Was watching this with my brother, about halfway through he made me pause it, sat there for a few seconds, and says "So what is actually happening?"
Oh man, imagine how great that TV Roundtable series would be.
I feel like most of this episode was worth sitting through for that final scene, which had me cackling with absolute glee. It would've been so easy to have one quick shot of the body, then a cut to black with Norma screaming. But the fact that they kept going back to it (His badge! His eye! Egad!) was just amazing.
Cas has always been one of the best characters on the show, and the fact that they're continuing to add to his story excites me.
As much as I want Crowley to be defeated from a story angle, the idea of losing Mark Sheppard makes me shed a tear.
Oh yeah, the implications of closing hell are immense, which is what I imagine next season will be about (the return of Hunter Cas!).
