Last season of “Check It Out!” went some dark places.

Julia and Jacques Cooking at Home is my favorite cooking program. Theirs was an effortless love, humor, and camaraderie. Last year I learned they did two 90-minute “Cooking in Concert” shows for PBS that are, basically, live performances of the show they went on to create.
