Aww dammit … that's more boring than if all ten hours of non-Leno NBC programming were in fact Leno hours.

christmas specials
Also … how come they're doing all of the christmas specials tonight? Are all of these shows going away for the next two weeks?

blood diamonds 4eva
Tom's "blood diamonds" bit made everyone in the room laugh hard enough that we missed the next good 3 minutes of plot. Actually, that happened several times I think because reading the review, I noticed there are a lot of details I missed.

Well, if we're tossing out review writing reviews, I kind of liked the 2.0 line in this instance — usually applying version numbers to arbitrary things is irritating, but here it did the job of summarizing "the show was so-so before and great now". Also, I liked the offhand, semi-obscure reference to the 400 pound CEO

donnatude
Donna's message to the glitter factory stripper about keeping anthony and wanting her microwave back slayed me.

pam and erin
I'm not in the "Pam's such a bitch now" camp for the most part, if we're camping. Plus being pregnant and all, it'd be a little off if she was all sunshine right now. But what do y'all think of the slowly amplifying nastiness between her and erin? Like Erin brought in that report ( I missed what it was

You say that as if it's finally starting to kick up the akward factor during a tame season … but I kind of feel like this season's been really heavy in tension and akwardness, and not in a cute "michael grilled his foot" "michael gives a terrible no-response speech to a convention hall filled with salepeople" sort of

That could veiled homophobia, but there's also nothing specifically in his words to indicate that there's a gay-focused problem. Oscar was surprisingly nasty toward Kevin and Pam's friend in Niagra.

I do know what you mean — especially with that akward child show scene at the end of Take Your Daughter To Work Day, where they really start to show what a lonely guy he is. Like yes he's an obnoxious, silly character, but he is also pretty interesting and brilliantly characterized in a way that makes him unique from

There's the episode from last season after the Angela drama where Andy and Dwight make friends and are suddenly very buddy-buddy. They have a polite rivalry over Erin. It's the one where they duel renditions of "take me home country roads" in the break room.

Oh yeah what was the that about where Pam made the joke about her mom lying about her age for 9 years and then her mom retorted with a slightly caustic joke about Pam getting pregnant four months before her marriage. They seemed to laugh it off as if it was cute banter, but it seemed strange.

Ahh OK I get it — I didn't realize there was an ordering aspect to the hornberger thing — just thought it was about surrounding who you want with other people that make him look the best … but still it just kind of seems like a random exuse to pull in the robot guy.

No I got that part, but why specifically pete randomly ran out and suddenly asked him to audition when pete never wanted to introduce more people to the process?

I think it's a normal paragraph with the lyrics to "Where Is My Mind" by the pixies spliced into it at points that are grammatically confusing. He's saying the episode made him made and he had to go listen to the pixies and splice in lyrics and stuff. Thanks for the brain teaser and such

Yeah … i think Kenneth is a popular character, and he's great and all at times, but they're milking him to death lately … like the random speaking latin thing. I'm guessing it's supposed to be funny because it's either out of character or hinged to his wacky hick roots or such … but they're playing that card too much

is this a mad lib?

I think this is the first episode that actually made me feel a strange sense of rage
It was all over the place. It's always been a manic show, and it's always been a little too cocky and self-referential for its own good at all times… but it generally pulled it off by being funny. I've been fine with the lukewarm

She is also (apparently) pregnant … doesn't that come with various mood changes with the horomones and whathaveyou

yeah this season feels more tense than hilarious (not that that's so terrible)
You know how one of this show's favorite tools is to portray Micheal as an insane, selfish, narcisistic asshole, but then manipulate you back into liking him again with tossing in the child-like naivity-flavored qualities amongst other
