It matters because it doesn't matter. If the story needs a volcano near Langley Falls or a joke only works if the characters suddenly don't recognize Rogers's latest disguise, fine, those are breaks from continuity or reality that are necessary for the show. But this, this accomplishes nothing. The writers could have

Apparently, I'm the only person who remembers the Winter Olympics were held in the same year as the Summer Olympics until 1992. The flashback showed Klaus at the 1986 Winter Olympics, which didn't exist, but apparently the people who work for American Dad couldn't have been bothered to, you know, google or use

Dax is at her most loathsome in this episode, when she announces that she's going to visit Odo in the infirmary, Warf points out that Odo has said he doesn't want visitors, and Dax basically spits on the concept that she should show the slightest respect for Odo's wishes.

This isn't the best episode of The Simpsons ever (as a traditionalist, I prefer Lisa's Substitute), but it has to be the most quotable half hour of television ever. I think the comment thread here proves that.

Am I the first person to notice that the mystery plot, such as it was, was recycled from Sea of Love?

Dammit, I'll say it — there were too many cameos as it was. Conan's, in particular, was unnecessary and awkward and should have been cut.

I hate to break it to you, but everybody saw the double- and triple- cross coming. I was actually expecting a quintuple-cross.

Your point being?

Would anyone mind if I comment on tonight's Up All Night episodes, since the show is apparently not being reviewed anymore?

It was basically the same joke Family Guy did years ago, but I doubt anyone described it as "an exceptionally clever gag" at the time.

Yeah, this part bothered me too.  In earlier episodes Masseria was described as having hundreds of soldiers, so powerful Nucky needed the alliance of every other gangster on the East Coast to take him on.  Now, Nucky double-crosses him and kills 30 or so guys right after the two have made a deal (through Rothstein,

Gotta agree that Rossetti is a "problematic" character — "grossly incompetent" might be a more accurate term. Nucky only got away because Rossetti sent Owen's body to Nucky as a warning, then Rossetti, decides to offend Chalky and losses another chance at Nucky. He also forgets to watch out for Eli — hey, it's not

Gyp — aka "The Guy Who Is Angered By Everything And Has No Other Personality" — is the most boring person on this, or any other, show. The scenes with TGWIABEAHNOP are so dull, it's amazing how much more interesting an Easter Egg hunt with a bunch of (ugh) child actors is by comparison.

"Defining characteristic" may be a bit harsh.  What I'm talking about is, who was Ryan before he met the group?  If he was basically a nice person with a few odd quirks, then when he joined a group of basically nice people with a few odd quirks nothing of significance happens but a bunch of odd quirks and the story is
