True for sure, but in TV the head writer(s) have final cut and final say on how things are shot, not the director.  So any given shot that we give credit to the director may not have been his/her idea.  Just seems unfair to the writer is all.

I like it a lot too.  But thought it odd he's not having more of a reaction to losing Carol.
