I'm not really a fan of Girls (at least so far) but I'd say it has the potential to generate more fans over time like some slow-burn comedies have (Seinfeld, Curb your enthusiasm, etc.), whereas The Newsroom seems like the kind of thing that might lose fans over time as it becomes more grating and shrill.

That would probably make for a better story; it would absolutely make more sense, as well.

I was about that age when I read it too and loved it.  Word to the wise - don't go back and reread it.  It's not nearly as good as an adult.

The fact that in the age of Traktor and other mixing software there are still bad DJs suggests that there is some skill required in doing it right.

@avclub-bca3531762af8a993c4f60c48fd5e33b:disqus could you point the way to good dubstep?  I was a little late to the party, and all I've heard is the Skrillex stuff which I find to be pretty awful - and this is coming from someone who has generally enjoyed a lot of electronic music over the years.

No, but they actually did play a prom at my high school. No video footage (that I'm aware of) was taken - their popularity did not surge afterwards.

@avclub-b957e6a926dd9b40e942e4f1e6ecc005:disqus I'm no expert on fiction writing so I can only really speculate.  Maybe it's because good stories allow the reader to feel like they're immersed in them and part of the action, and it takes relatable characters to do that?  I don't really mean that there needs to be a

Only over 55s?  I'm 34 and listening to that crap is like an express ticket to dreamland.
