TVDW obviously missed out on the nonstop fun of the '90s ABBA craze that was almost singlehandedly (footedly?) kickstarted by Muriel's Wedding. (Okay, technically Priscilla, Queen of the Desert started things off — and in a fabulous fashion — but they didn't take full advantage of the ABBA like MW did.)

And, for some weird reason, that just makes me like it more, as if I have to defend it. The level of HAAAAAAAATE — and those people hate every single thing — for this show is truly astounding and far out of proportion. It's becoming self-parody.

Alas, no new episode next week, due to college basketball. That'll probably continue for the rest of the month.  Could be why CBS aired this one episode last night — keep us from completely forgetting the show.

Is that streetview during the summer? It actually looks cool, like a place I'd want to visit — and Russia is in my top five places to visit before I die.  Then again, I might think differently if I lived there. (Which is true of 90% of places on Earth.)

House Of Cards (Netflix, 1 p.m., Friday): We
remember this hunk of the season—Ryan McGee’s up to episode seven—being
pretty darn solid and making us think this was all going to come
together in a really satisfying way. But, honestly, that was back in
1994, we’re pretty sure, so we could be wrong.

I suppose this could be considered Phillip cheating on Elizabeth because he made an emotional choice to sleep with Ann and not just as part of his spy work. Granted, Elizabeth technically cheated with Gregory, but those circumstances were different since their affair happened before she and Phillip started their

Onscreen, she looked a hell of a lot like Emmy Rossum, to the point that I thought it  was indeed her.  Then again, I don't watch Shameless and have pretty much forgotten what Rossum looks like.

Oh, yeah. That guy's flabby butt was a huge turn-on for us heterosexual ladies and gay men. Once again, we get shafted (er, by the lack of a shaft?  Or at least by the lack of an attractive ass.)

Despite the episode's overall excellence, there was one (big) low-point for me:

I'm resisting the urge to jump the SaB gun and google "Introducing the Miracle".  That said, the title does seem like a bit of a spoiler for the two-parter conclusion, no?

A certain amount of the nomenclature can be explained by the relative newness of their relationship. I think the switch reveal only happened a year or so ago. But I do think they're both to blame for the strained relationship, even though neither realizes or intends it. They are both naturally standoffish, and (if I

Aww, Carrie Wikis Some Art is my favorite part of the recaps! And thanks for doing so — I've been watching since the pilot but had no idea about the art connection until I started reading your recaps. I wonder if they choose a thematically-based painting during the initial writing process, or if they find a related

Four people onscreen. Two were black. And this was the best darn episode since the pilot. Do the math, New Showrunner Whose Name I've Forgotten.

I was surprised to see the B+ rating, given that the incessant ABC promos make it look like a parody of itself. Maybe I'll give it a shot tonight.

I’m always amazed by just how female-centric the show’s universe is.
There are men who have become characters, but they’re less important
than everybody else and are occasionally just there to be eye candy.

Carrie Raisler would rather the universe keep existing, thank
you very much.

This puts him in the same category as any number of artists—musicians,
actors, writers—who achieved some high-flying glories while they were
chemically jacked up, and who now risk disappointing people who think
that being an addict was an essential part of their legend and feel
that, now that they’re healthy, they

C'mon. Naked baby pics are a rite of passage in America!  I can't wait until my nephews are old enough for me to haul out my trove of embarrassing pics.

Hmph. I will only watch that silly "Switched at Birth" show when they start naming episodes after the collected works of Cassius Marcellus Coolidge.  http://money.cnn.com/2005/0…

I haven't seen this episode in years, but I still randomly blurt out the following (especially the Florida line).
