Proops v. Goop
I wasn't aware that she needed to be hated until just recently when she starting singing and Greg Proops pretty much spend half of an episode of his podcast mercilessly mocking her lifestyle blog. Otherwise she's always been that kind of pretty lady who got her head cut off in Seven.

that and all of the glaring inaccuracies on wiccapedia! HA HA! YES! sorry.

Teenagers can be so nasty at that age. And when it's hot.

if you take occam's razor and throw it completely out the window maybe

Yeah. I had to rewind it to understand that the Janitor was saying "El Diablo", and then I felt kind of stupid for not just gleaning that. Then I took another sip of beer.

psshh
you know that they are just going to pre-write that shit.

Kristen Bell
Her involvement means that I will be watching that show. This I have already admitted to myself, and now am admitting to others.

I wouldn't have picked Fortunate Son. Maybe Black Betty.

It really made me want to consider changing to DirecTV.

Seattle people
Being a Seattle resident, I was pleased to see that this was obviously shot in Seattle. I'm used to establishing shots of the Space Needle, and then no local character. I wonder if other Seattle based commenters might disagree with me, but other than the obvious locales, any idea where the Larsens are

The Riches was fine, but it really couldn't have been around for terribly much longer than it was. The "are they gonna caught?"-"of course not, then we wouldn't have a television show" model isn't that sustainable. Well, except for Dexter.

A general inquiry
Can I just skip the first season or two of this show and still grasp what's going on? I trudged through the first 8 episodes or so and I cannot deal. I'd like to like this, but where could I start?

Yeah. I was a little bit surprised they didn't give us a little bit more reaction than "What?" Richard's wife seemed really distant and disinterested when she came to visit him a few episodes ago. I suspect what really happened was:
I won top chef!
What?
I won top chef!
So when are you coming home?

I'd cry
But it would be a waste of moisture…

Not just dating. They done got hitched. But hey, he does great impressions.

The Morale to the Story
… Everybody's working for the weekend?

The central conflict
I guess that what is basically happening this episode is that I'm supposed to sympathize with either Johnny or Romeo. We all know that Johnny has ulterior motives, but also this intangible familial sort of relationship that I'm supposed to relate with because, you know, family is everything and

The steak was a metaphor.
