I could swear at one point in a Fast Times at Ridgemont High TV edit I watched a character (I am pretty sure it was Spiccoli) calls someone a "shoe box nerd." Now that cuts deep.

So I downloaded the album, and I pretty much agree with the review here. Prolly a lil' more miss than hit, but enough good songs to make it worth the purchase…if you are a pretty big GBV fan already that is. If not, any album from Propeller-Half Smiles is a better bet. I will say that with each of the reunion albums I

Even that is a bit much.

I will probably download this on the power of the thoroughly excellent "Planet Score" alone, but I am not getting my hopes up for the entire album. I got the first two reunion LP's and was pretty underwhelmed by both, probably because I have never been a huge Tobin Sprout fan. I think the reunion discs are better for

Life-threatening athletes foot.

Fox News has Cabbage Head on the scene over there as well.

Well they do have their teacher's pet bands (see: Vampire Weekend) that get to buck this trend. If you really wanna see Pitchfork hate on something throw a rock album at them. They will give you a ten thousand word review that translates to "I never understood rock and roll."

Now that is a good call. Such a powerful scene! His best in my opinion as well, and he had a ton of great ones.

Yes!!! And I never would have suspected his performance was an instance of art imitating life. Now that is a great movie with some incredible performances.

In Greg's defense, whilst sinking it does hurt to be alone.

But was it better than Gonz's part in Video Days?

Uhhhhhhh…no mention of a slightly (the most liberal use of the word "slightly" here) sub-par drummer? If I recall correctly he kinda wasn't incredible. It would be cool if they picked up a pro (drummer, not skateboarder) and this version of Black Flag started playing more of the post-Damaged, pre-What The… stuff. It's

Fair thee well Motley Crew! Dye thine hair jet black well into thine nineties, and spend enough money on facial plastic-surgery to make thine cocaine-consumption in the 1980's appearest like a trip to thine candy store.

I wonder if this song caused a decrease in mandolin sales. The great mandolin suicide scare of the early 90's. Yet another cover by Superchunk that crushes the original.

That was by far the best line in this episode. So funny!!!

The first half of Death Proof was so painful to watch in the theater. Especially after the lunatic energy of Planet Terror and the hysterical fake Grindhouse trailers. Tarrantino's film took a giant dump all over that fun afternoon at the cinema. He is good at ripping others off visually, but his dialogue pretty much

Note To Self: Make sure to leak every script for an upcoming Quentin Tarrantino film.

Easily one of Pavement's best songs.

I very much agree. His dedication to the Indiana Jones skit really killed me. He definitely has some comic chops. Reminds me of Justin Timberlake in the sense that both would make great, full-time players on the show.

I dunno if any label could have been run worse than Cruz! Even though Pummel was pretty much a dud with a couple great songs, All did bounce back nicely with Mass Nerder a couple years later. I am still waaaaay more partial to the Scott Reynolds era of that band though. Imagine if Allroy's Revenge had been the album
