This is actually one of three Christmas movies/specials that I absolutely have to see each season. My mom and I have watched it at least once every year since before I can remember. It's our tradition. We ordered Thai food and watched it a few nights ago. "Alone In The World" still chokes me up.

People absolutely look back on those records as being exceptionally great, The Queen Is Dead in particular. It's the 2nd highest ranked album from the 1980s on rateyourmusic.com (and #28 overall). It's been given a perfect score by most critics (Rolling Stone, Pitchfork, Allmusic, Q), and regularly makes best albums

*"Sing" is only on the American release of Leisure.

"Though Oasis wins by a landslide in the B-Sides department."

What? Pitchfork gave Vampire Weekend's self-titled album an 8.8 and Contra an 8.6. Both made the top ten of Pitchfork's year-end albums list for their respective years. The debut almost cracked the top fifty of their best albums of the decade. They've been some of Vampire Weekend's most staunch supporters.

Have you listened to The Argument? It's quite melodic in places.
