I don't think anyone's attacking Winterfell right now.  I think the dream was showing the Greyjoys (the sea) coming after the Starks (Winterfell).  And Bran said he saw the one guy die, can't remember his name, but the guy he sent off to lead the 200 men against the attack.

I didn't find the Renly death underwhelming, for one main reason… there was ONE HAIR sticking too far out of his beard, and it was all I could see!  I couldn't unnotice it!  I think it was actually picking up the light!  All I could think about was trimming it… and then he was dead.  Ah well.

I don't think he had a choice on executing them himself and disposing of the bodies.  They're the ones who came after him.  He couldn't just arrest them, he had to fight.  And then once he killed them, he can't just leave the bodies lying around for someone else to find.  Made sense that he'd hide them.  I just hope…

He should be ok for awhile yet, since he's the only living proof that Joffrey is not Robert's son.  This is just a guess, I haven't read the books.  But if he dies, then there will never be enough proof for even loyal followers to kick Joffrey off the throne.
