I just find Piper totally unauthentic. With all the other characters, I buy their motivations and they own their choices. With Piper, it's like she does what she does because it's in the script. I don't accept for a minute that she could intimidate the other inmates, not for a second.

I love the fact that Caputo is not easy to define. I'm not sure if he's an arsehole trying to convince himself and others he's a good guy or vice versa. The last time we saw her was in that episode where she got it on with Kyle Maclachlan. They took her too far here, made a mockery of her character (and so did Alicia) and broke the spell… in my opinion.

If I can just offer a theory that's not based on any fact whatsoever… Alicia's stories are now told largely with guest or new regular characters, as she goes off and does her own thang. Meanwhile the show's entire supporting cast is backgrounded, and that makes no sense at all. Why would the show hide them away when
