I enjoyed your post. I have a few additions:

Joan also put Dawn in charge of timecards. In effect, Joan assigned the one black employee overseer tasks on top of her secretarial ones. (Ironic, that.) From the point of view of the admin pool, then, some might say, symbolically speaking, Joan transformed Dawn from a field N to a house N or Uncle Tom.

Ginsberg's scary now: Rape-y ad (perhaps inspired by the nurse murders). Unfiltered utterances (and sometimes actions - like being sober but throwing the Exacto knife at Stan). I'm hoping Ginz doesn't do something even worse to Don if Don steals or buries another of Ginz's ideas.

Good thing Peggy had no gun. [Talk about bam-a-lam!]

Peggy: Will he be OK?
EMT: Shrug
Peggy's take: This may be a life or death situation, and that flippant, make that callous, mofo sittin' there shrugs! Really? That's straight up incompetent and disrespectful.

Arlene's bottle of Blue Nun wine is all kinds of symbolic and referential:

I think Betty checked out when she left, so there'd be no way Henry could walk in on Don. She and Henry *play* a cuckolding game, but Betty knows Henry's limits. No way she wants to blow this second show [at least, not without a better 3rd one lined up], for so many reasons.

RE: Dr. Arnold Rosen and Dr. Greg Harris - butter and margarine, plus a pat of Joan

Dagnabit! Disqus won't let me edit my previous post.  I'd wanted to add:

RE: "The woman's 'let the wig do the work' struck me as kind of a putdown."

Thanks for the compliment.  And you're right about "Spinning Wheel"; since it wasn't recorded 'til October 1968, it's still just a gleam in David Clayton-Thomas' eye at the time of the shrug.

Murray - Present - I agree that Betty's evolved, and that she seems happier and more confident when she travels outside of her everyday orbit.

Cub - Don read Bobbie just right. I was shocked by what he did, but she seemed titillated. Don's behavior recalls the Relish ad from Spring/Summer '09 depicted in the article cited below and linked here http://www.cbsnews.com/8301….

Peggy needs to cast a wider net, outside of people she's worked with (past and present). Seems she's now in a similar boat to Dawn, since both spend so much time at work. The prescription for each - if her priority is to meet someone eligible - is to network, volunteer, get a hobby that men and women both enjoy.

I don't think Bob's a G-Man or Private Eye, but I could see any number of SCDP/CGC people's being investigated because of such things as:
…Megan's father's politics or someone associated with her acting career (perhaps her agent, whom she couldn't track down the day of Mrs. Sterling's memorial service)
…Abe's social

appmanga - RE: "Abe is among those who wonders how can anyone have faith in the survival of a country where MLK and Bobby Kennedy could be killed and where resistance to the draft was on par with Southern resistance to civil rights.  As a newspaper writer, he's informed more than most as to how society is coming

J.P. McP - In talking about that 6-month guy,
Married Kate (said to Joan): "You do everything first."
Joan replied: "But you do everything right."

OLIVECECILE - RE: "It's interesting that Pete is so often compared to Don; he also has a lot in common with Roger."

Triohead - RE: "Well there's no tick-box with "White" next to it, do you think he can convince them 'Olson' is a Puerto Rican surname?"
