That's how it struck me at the time.  I loved Elliot's roles on Letterman — the Guy Under the Seats, his completely deluded Brando impersonation ("Banana!") — and I was really excited for this show when it first came out.  And I remember being sorely disappointed and generally bored by it.

Fair enough.

I've always wondered if this was the group Terry Zwigoff had in mind when he wrote the "authentic blues" group Blueshammer in "Ghost World."

The boxing episode is what halted my progress in BSG.  My wife and I tried to sit through it on several occasions, never could, and it effectively quashed my enthusiasm for the show.

Tasha.  Your friends are interesting and I want to know them.

I remember being really excited for Toys — it was 1992, and I didn't realize that Robin Williams was a clear sign of a movie being total shit.  (plus, Fisher King came out around then and would have muddled that message).

I realize I may be off-base on this, but each time Lorena makes it through a near-elimination, I think to myself "Nah, Taco Bell wouldn't have paid to have her commercials running through this season if she got booted this early."

To see if you like bananas, you have to rub Annie's boobs.

I wonder how much responsibility this movie bears for creating the iconic status of the Universal monsters.  Sure, they were popular in their own way, but were a lot of other movies/characters/stars at the time.  But taking that set of monsters and placing them in a radically different context seems to plant this

HOW THE FUCK HAS NO ONE MADE THIS YET?

I never understood the hate for Maladjusted.  I think it's an awesome album.  The title track and "Alma Matters" are two of my favorite solo Morrissey songs.  And "Trouble Loves Me" is beautiful.
