This news made my day. No joke here, just stoked for more.

Yeah - that's why I noted it might be a factor in my enjoyment of it. My wife didn't watch Lost either and she also loves The Leftovers.

I really love this show. I never watched LOST and have no strong feelings on Lindelof, so that may be a factor. I'm surprised that so many folks seem to truly hate it and are still watching 7 episodes in.
I did want to note that next week's episode is titled Cairo, which is likely the relevant Nat Geo story.
