Speaking of, how about a DVD release of "The Last Unicorn" that contains all the different versions of the film?  The DVD I own is of a TV-edit (and no, it is not labeled as such) that cuts out most of the scene where Molly and the Unicorn first meet, which is tantamount to blasphemy.

Overcat - I'll see your having seen "The Mouse and His Child" as a little kid in a theater and raise you seeing "The Last Unicorn" under the same circumstances.  That thing will change your entire outlook on life as a five-year-old My Little Pony collector.

Could it have been "Pinwheel"?  It's a bit before the time period you're talking about, but it was an anthology series for young children.  It was hosted by puppets and people who were essentially direct parallels of "Sesame Street" characters — except without a veritable army of child psychologists working behind the

Yeah, sorry about that, man.

I'll never understand that logic.  Even if the first two sets didn't sell well, why punish those of us who actually did buy them?

"A Mouse and His Child" is attainable through YouTube and was mentioned upthread.  Great, haunting animated film.

"The Sweatbox" is especially puzzling because you can easily buy "Dream On, Silly Dreamer" through iTunes last time I checked and that is by a country mile the more damning Disney documentary.

What the… the "Grimms Fairy Tale Classics" show was done by Ghibli?!?  My mind is blown.

Hell, it's an insane price for most classrooms as well!  WTF, Disney?

Oh my GOD "What's Alan Watching"!  I recall that airing as a one-shot special when I was a teen and I loved it!

Yes, this.  And I mentioned the material cut from the film itself upthread.

"Paleoworld", man.  But basically I just want actual non-reality-show educational content on TLC and TDC again.

Yes!  I loved everything about that show from the haunting opening theme/credits to Jones' introductions to the wide variety of animated shorts they aired.

Oh good lord yes.  There was a rumor of a special edition DVD a few years ago but nothing came of it.

On a similar note, I've been eaten up with curiosity over the supposed million dollars worth of finished animation cut (for time, according to the most reliable sources) from the original "Land Before Time" since I first heard about it as a child.  There are supposedly a bunch of unfinished deleted scenes as well.

It took me years to eat Cheerios after "Honey, I Shrunk the Kids!"

I'd like for Disney to stop being ridiculous about it's TV catalog in general.  We should have complete series sets of all the Disney Afternoon shows, all their Saturday morning shows, "The Muppet Show", "Avonlea", the 90's "Mickey Mouse Club", the 80's Disney Channel original movies, ad infinitum.

"Haunting" is a good word for "The Mouse and his Child".  It's on YouTube, naturally, but I want to be able to do a DVD double-feature of it and "A.I. - Artificial Intelligence".

Holy shit, what a cruelly deceptive title!  I remember seeing that on "Calliope", the USA Network's anthology series for little kids and even the host was taken aback by the ending.

The reason there was something "off" about Jeff is because when you are a small child, it's the tall adult people who tell you how to do things, ie brushing your teeth and how to use a push broom and such.  Having a character who *looked* like a tall, grown-ass adult but had to be told how to do things adults are
