"Haunting" is the word for this special. For me, it belongs in the same "family" as "The Last Unicorn", "Watership Down", "Brave Little Toaster" and "The Mouse and his Child", strange and slightly unsettling animated films that affect you one way as a child and an entirely different way as an adult. And for that, I…
Chuck Jones' "Grinch" and "Feed the Kitty"
So, since nobody else has mentioned it:
I was under the impression that Malibu Rum is so-named because it tastes like what I imagine drinking an entire bottle of suntan lotion would.
I
am going to give the edge to "Zookeeper" for reasons listed here:

This is my (ugh, can't believe I'm a grown-ass adult about to use this term) "headcanon" forever. Thank you.
All things considered, the sick crock is probably more fun at parties.
I know, it's hard to pick the best thing Chuck Jones ever did (I also love "Feed the Kitty" and "One Froggy Evening" and his Wile E. Coyote and Kipling shorts).
As an aside, I still have no idea WTF a "secular humanist" is supposed to be.
I have met people who exist in the same universe as we do (ie, the universe where the Chuck Jones "Grinch" exists) and yet they not only do not mind that the live-action "Grinch" exists, they actually love it and watch it every year. I usually back away slowly after learning this.
Greatest Christmas advertisement, or GREATEST Christmas advertisement?
I mentioned this in a thread above but I remember this book and special got all kinds of parents waargaarbling because -horrors!- "Santa's all angry and stuff!"
On the other hand, he did that wonderful book/special about a cranky, stressed-out Father Christmas (which in itself got all kinds of parents riled up, so you know it's good) on his post-Christmas vacation,
By the way, you're not alone in finding the Bowie version… a little strange. The Briggs version is amazing, though. Thanks for sharing it!
I remember a similar commercial for the Rankin-Bass "Hobbit", with a similar woman's voiceover using awkward phrases like, "DELICIOUS fun for the whole family!!!"
I was thinking that too, but different target audiences and all.
So if "Chipwrecked" outgrosses "The Muppets", that's when we get to completely give up on this generation right?
On the subject of "Fanboys", a discussion of what happened to the movie can be heard here and it is heartbreaking: http://www.slashfilm.com/20…
