Alex legit took like 15 agents with her and left Winn alone. It was pretty cruel.

I thought he sounded like Neelix too! But then I forgot to look it up.

As far as I can tell her sole motivation tonight was "diamonds," so I think it's fair to say she's pretty under/inconsistently written at the moment.

You won't have to wait long. Livewire is back next week!

As far as I can tell, the crossover is only going to come into play in the last few minutes of Supergirl. I'm pretty sure it's going to be a normal episode with Kara getting transported into the Flash/Arrow universe at the end. I haven't seen a screener or anything, but that's the vibe I'm getting from interviews.

It's a really great image.

Thank you for sharing this!

To be fair, I didn't write about him in my first review, so I only got it wrong three times not four. : -)

I posted in this in another thread but I think it applies here too: It's not that I want Elizabeth herself to do more, it's that I want the
show to have a little bit more of a point of view on her inaction. Is it
a bad thing that caused people to suffer? Is it a good thing that holds
the country together? Is it

It's not that I want Elizabeth herself to do more, it's that I want the show to have a little bit more of a point of view on her inaction. Is it a bad thing that caused people to suffer? Is it a good thing that holds the country together? Is it somewhere in between? The episode had a clear point of view on Churchill,

Thanks for the info on Queen Victoria! I meant to look that up before I wrote this review but I forgot. I wish the show had emphasized how historic the shift was.

I read the Maasai king moment in the same way you did, I'm just not sure "game recognizes game" is the right note to end on when it comes to colonialism. It makes it seem like the Kenyan perspective on Windsors is one of respect and mutual admiration when that is very much not the case.

I think the Mad Man comparison is particularly apt. That was another series that, when you boil it down, was basically about privileged white people feeling sad and overwhelmed by the minutia of their relatively comfortable lives. And while I agree we have WAY too many of those types of stories in general, I wonder

Eh, I think I can like Elizabeth as a public figure and be fascinated by the monarchy as an institution without ignoring all of the problematic stuff that goes along with that. Like, I can be a fan of Matt Damon and also find his thoughts on diversity super troubling, you know?

I was thrown by that at first too! They meant that 12 months had past before the start of the montage, which then went on to cover her two pregnancies and the early days w/ the kids. It was a particularly confusing setup.

That parenting moment really struck me too, especially because Elizabeth would've grown up with her parents leaving her and Margaret behind while they were on official business. I found this on Wikipedia:

Wanna know something completely insane? The actors are only six years apart. David Harewood is 50 and Sharon Leal is 44. Apparently she's just an ageless goddess or something?

I thought the same thing! For all her sunniness, Kara can be stone cold every once in a while.

I actually meant that Floriana Lima is the most exciting addition to the cast outside of Tyler Hoechlin, but I see how that was confusing. Although, if I was talking about the comics I would've italicized "Superman."

Yeah that's what I meant! I think Tyler Hoechlin wins for best new cast member, but I really like Floriana Lima too.
