I had the exact same thought. I wonder if Glenn Morshower was busy? Or maybe they thought the father/daughter dynamic would add one too many elements?

I unexpectedly became super emotional at Kara/Lucy's friendship in that last DEO scene. I was a little so-so on Lucy at first, but now I'm all in.

It didn't autoplay for me and I tried it a couple of times! Maybe it's a browser thing? I was using Firefox.

It was a very Joss Whedon moment.

To be fair, I've spent these reviews praising the vast majority of the show's male characters so I don't think that's the only thing at play here. And I had no problem with Karen's relationship with Ben last season. Ellison just comes off as a real creeper to me.

I'm equally confused about it all if that helps.

Hey, I gave that a shoutout in my "Standout Moment" from Ep 12!

Oh really? Fascinating.

I will say, Marvel is actually pretty good about catering to the female gaze and not being too skeevy while catering to the male one. I was very impressed that Guardians Of The Galaxy featured an extended shot of shirtless Chris Pratt but no similarly half-naked shots of Zoe Saldana (although, of course, her costume

And, more importantly, why did we spend so much time with her in this episode? How incredibly random.

Personally the fingernail torture and Frank beating that guy's head in the diner were the only two times I felt compelled to watch through my fingers. But I also think I have a pretty high tolerance for TV violence.

Damn, good call. If only that look weren't wasted on Jeremy Renner…

"Hey Red, sorry I showed up 30 seconds too late to save your girlfriend. But my skull vest looks cool, right?"

Don't blame me! It's all there! He's paternalistic and controlling towards her *all* season with some weird negging going on every time she expresses an opinion ("I just survived a trauma and would like to sleep and eat a meal." "Yeah? Well a real reporter would write about it.") And then his insistence that she get

Now I'm imagining a version of this show wear Daredevil also wears a sleeveless suit just to show off his arm muscles.

"I won't kill you, but I don't have to save you… from my friend who is definitely going to kill you."

To be honest I got the creepiest vibes off Ellison all season so maybe he's trying to butter her up? I legit thought he was going to make a pass at her during their Christmas Eve exchange.
