"Hmm, the worst thing that ever happened to me was the time my sister disappeared on an unsafe helicopter. I know! I'll hire a shoddy plane to fly people from my hospital!"

So was she being a negligent doctor? I feel like in general Grey's lays out its cases well, but this one was weirdly confusing.

I always forget Amelia was on Private Practice (I didn't watch the show). Weird that she has this whole backstory I don't really know.

It's all so unclear to me. Mer mentioned that surgery was super dangerous and Riggs didn't seem to object that much so maybe it was a 50/50 chance either way? Or Daphne was basically a goner from the start and the doctors kind of knew it? Also how the hell was she losing that much blood??!

When I think back on the pilot I don't really think of her case in particular, just the general craziness of the episode. I think that's different than, say, the two people in the train accident or the "pregnant" man patients who were a bit more of a focal point. But, hey, maybe Katie is more memorable for other

Very good observation. Standards and practices must have very different policies for how much blood you can show when someone is cut during a superhero fight scene vs. sliced with a scalpel in an O.R.

Bets on how she'll be reintroduced? I would guess she either shows up at the hospital as a patient following a dramatic air-rescue from her prison (because naturally you'd take a war prisoner to Seattle) or she has complete amnesia and comes to the hospital for an unrelated reason and Owen freaks out when he sees her.

That stakes of the entire case were unclear to me. Meredith mentioned that going into surgery was also dangerous, but I couldn't tell if she was being risky by waiting for the clotting.

Thank god.

Thank you for pointing out the ridiculousness of James' evacuation line, which didn't really strike me initially. It's like his thought process was "We have to get out of the building to be safe. Oh shit! Then we'll just be in the city. We have to get out of the city!"

Just wait until I use it three times and Mr. Tone Deaf appears!

I love this analysis!

Fascinating. I actually really love that people can strongly identify with both characters' points of view. I think that's a sign of great writing.

Can you imagine if they had brought Sloan back for an unexpected cameo? Or, hell, even Lexie! Didn't see date Jackson for a while?

I forgot April's hair used to be that long! And that she started out as a brunette. Also until this episode I don't think I'd ever really noticed how much Jackson's hair/facial hair has changed over the seasons.

I want to write a freakin' novel about how much I love the Karev/Meredith friendship and how beautifully the show built it up. I know it's mostly remembered for its romance, but Grey's does friendship SO well.

Classic ep! You guys are bringing back so many memories (and tears).

The thing I find most moving in the shooting episode is Cristina's dedication to saving Derek for Meredith. I cry so much when she's performing surgery at GUNPOINT and keeps saying, "I can't stop." Like, damn, that is a dedicated friend.
