Personally I wouldn't call him sympathetic, but I would say that I'm frequently tricked into liking him (briefly) because of his charm.

I totally agree that a little more procedural element would be nice. Jessica Jones has done it a little more than Daredevil did (w/ Audrey Eastman and then Luke Cage's missing person), but I want to see more of Jessica at work!

The funny thing is that this show is *so* vague about everything (there's so little exposition) except for Malcolm.

I agree the show really doesn't make this clear. At first I thought he was just a super fit dude with impressive (but human) strength and unbreakable skin. But this episode really amps up his strength to superhuman levels.

Same. I almost wrote a whole long paragraph about this in one of these reviews but it ended up being too long so I cut it. There's just so much to discuss with this show!

No spoilers from me but I can tell you your question will be answered!

Which makes since with "Defenders" as the big crossover event at the end. The Netflix heroes are more defensive/investigative than, say, the Avengers or even SHIELD.
