There's enough singing talent on The Flash/Supergirl to cast an entire musical.

I *think* Cat's question about children was meant to "trick" Supergirl into admitting something personal about herself (and that's why Kara later said Cat's superpower was being an interviewer). But honestly I'm not positive. Cat is definitely a little all over the place at times.
Showing not telling is without a doubt this show's biggest flaw right now.
At the very least I think Kara is going to have to save him in a big way before this season is done. Alex basically guaranteed it when she dropped a line about the fact that one day Superman will need her help.
I particularly loved Kara's overreaction to James' tea joke. Melissa Benoist can do basically anything this show asks of her.
Seconded!
Thanks for sharing this!
I thought that might be the case but I wasn't sure. Well done Chernow!
I personally feel some old shows carry surprising emotional relevance today too. In addition to seeing Allegiance and Hamilton on my most recent trip to New York I also saw The King & I and it was far and away the show that made me cry the most of the three.
I also feel like it can be read as such a subtle commentary on gender. Like, if Hamilton hadn't lived in a society where he felt like he had to protect his honor (/masculinity) in a duel, he could have lived longer and done all of this amazing stuff too.
I'm so happy I could provide this platform for all of you amazing Hamilton-loving commenters!
I'm very glad Miranda gave Burr the line "I'm the damn fool that shot him" right in the opening number so that all (non-joking) complaints of spoilers are null and void!
I don't think Lincoln was a bad movie nor did I say it was. But, objectively, it didn't explore the the role black people and women played in abolition. It explored a specific period of history through the lens of great white men, which is the common way to explore history. Allegiance does something very different and…
I also like how "Well I'm going back to sleep" has this nice little edge that doesn't overwhelm the sweetness. It makes their relationship feel very lived-in.
Plus the fact that it doubles as "trust-fund baby" and "baby you can trust me."
It's a really great delivery.
Burr's shocked "no!" that becomes "No one was in the room where it happened." Also when Angelica and Eliza sing each others names in "Take A Break." And the little "Alexander Hamilton" melody in "What'd I Miss?"
I would say start with some of Hamilton's catchiest songs as a gateway. Most work pretty well out of context as pop songs, particularly "Schuyler Sisters," "Wait For It," and "Helpless." Get them hooked that way and maybe they'll listen to the whole thing on their own.
Bring It On is one of my favorite things to stream when I need energizing music. "Killer Instinct" is so freaking catchy!
