Yeah, I tell people I'm 'staying at the Bourbon Hotel' as well, mostly when I miss an AA meeting.

I know this is stupid and based on nothing more than their name, but I always get Jeff Daniels and Jeff Bridges confused. I finally figured out it was Jeff Bridges in True Grit, but then I thought he was the one in the Squid and the Whale as well. Don't even ask me about Beau Bridges and Beau Daniels.

I contend that the rest of NSYNC would have been just as good as Timberlake if they hadn't all died in that tragic plane crash with the Big Bopper.

I'm not familiar with his previous work, so can you recommend any of Swanberg's past movies as a starting point, Mr Clark? This sounds like something I'd enjoy, but it won't be coming anywhere near me anytime soon.

I'm relistening to his entire catalogue again, and the guy makes some beautiful music. The metal thing is pretty funny (although I've never even tried to listen to the metal album he recorded), so hopefully he's getting a bit more of a sense of humour about himself.

Mr Oates,
Although some people may see him as 'Jesus' Franco, I think we're still allowed to just call him 'James'.

Archmage,
I'll have to check out the new Arkells. I wasn't sure when I heard they were sounding more mainstream and I haven't really seen any reviews, but I'll give it a go. Their first album reminded me of the Constantines, if the Constantines lightened up a bit (I love the Constantines, by the way).
As for this, I

Great stories, @avclub-528aecdf9cf67e516dfd5eaa675ccfd9:disqus . I really would like to see this, but doubt it'll come anywhere near me.

He is singing 'Fünf-fick flug'. It's a German aeronautical term.

If I had a nickel for every book I read about shooting boxes, I would have no nickels.

I actually like Dennis Wilson's solo album more than any solo Brian Wilson stuff. I love Pacific Ocean Blue; the break in Dreamer is an absolutely gorgeous moment.

Gucci Pucci? That sounds like the name of Paris Hilton's dog.

It's such a beautiful book. Robert Munsch has to be one of the best children's authors of all, and he is a master of mixing frankness and lightness of touch.

Hmmm, I love the album, but I kind of agree about the Queen of Lower Chelsea. Still, that album hits me in the perfect way. Maybe it has to do with my emotional state when it came out, but damn, I love it. However, like I said, the same is true of the '59 Sound. Miles Davis and the Cool is perhaps my favourite. I'll

They were trading Canadian Pacific photos on the site? Man, that is just too fucked up for words.

I seem to be the only person who actually prefers American Slang. I think it holds together exceptionally as a whole, and has some great songs (American Slang, the Boxer, Old Haunts). That being said, I really, really love the '59 Sound as well.

That's nothing. Icliotking got tickets to see Shed Seven on Jimmy Kimmel.

I liked 'rapping hat'. However, I don't think Mr O'Neal gives enough credit to our noble Waffle House employees. I could maybe buy it with the Staind lead singer, but they have standards that rise far above Durst-level.

Thanks C.H.O.M.P.S. (I can't 'at' your name for some reason), I think I understand your argument better now, and pretty much agree with your first paragraph.
I think a lot of discussion also has to do with how we (as individuals) view movies. I look for an overall lyrical thread and may overlook fine details; some

It's an interesting thought @Tristiac:disqus, and I guess it depends on intent. Something like Apocalypse Now seems like it was meant to be seen in the best possible conditions; only technological limitations prevented it. I think that movies that used those limitations to their advantage (I'm having a hard time
