nathan's double take when the rabbi enthusiastically asked for swastikas and him drawing! crematoria promotional sketches was my favorite edit of the episode.

The cross examination refuted by videotape evidence was the best part of this great episode. Nice to see genuine reactions to pure absurdity, and she was game to perjure herself. Perfect. Harikian's levelheaded explanation of his small door/alligator/suit and tie marketing campaign was priceless.

Without meegan, dirty randy, rafi, or bethesda I don't see a key & peele-like full quality final season for this one. Last week they lampshade all the sex/scatological/dick jokes, then have an entire episode about shit, that only doesn't work because it's not that funny.

Jimmy. You know, Ricky's friend on Trailer Park Boys.

this makes a perfect companion piece to bergman's 'winter light'. but really, you could start with any of the "absence of god trilogy". and if you like those, as stated above, you should check out any and all of bela tarr's work.

great episode and season, maybe best of the year of the shows I follow. But speaking of my best from last year, when does "the returned" season two come back? i saw promos, but lost track. also, how are they gonna deal with the ghosts' actors aging? it can't go on more than one more season, right?

i'd really love to believe tarantino is capable of great film-making without sally menke, but if django is any indication, i'm not so sure. at least this one doesn't look like he's slumming with robert rodriguez and eli roth w/exploding heads and flying bodies. please be good. carpenter/russell good?

tough call between Ampersand from Y: The Last Man and Rowf from Plague Dogs

Alternate no-love-given list:
Detour, Nightmare Alley, Big Heat, In a Lonely Place, "the Killing/Narrow Margin"(anything with Marie Windsor), Non-Reagan "the Killers".

i'm a big damon-bourne movie fan, but these clearly don't take themselves too seriously, are funny, and usually have the year's best set-pieces. take out number two and this is my favorite action-adventure series of all-time. the new bond movies are nowhere near this caliber. and crystal skull kingdom or whatever the

First off, I think there's far too many people on her comicbook guying it up here. I thought it was very good popcorn entertainment with excellent performances throughout. And I was reminded (however tangentially) of "White Ribbon" by the teens' fascist regime at the end. Solid B+ show.

oh… it's you. i was shocked to see fernando rey had still been alive.

What, no love for my favorite joke of episode?

can't really break it down, but the analogy has to make sense; velvet is my favorite rock band and tvz is my favorite country singer. hell, waits, townes, and reed are my favorite song-writers.

holy shit, i know malick hasn't been as consistent as pts lately for everyone. i think some of his films are among the greatest ever and others…meh. But, with, 'inherent vice,' i haven't anticipated two movies coming out in same period since 'no country for old men' and 'there will be blood.' will enthusiasm will not

see both

Bought this on strength of The Grey Zone (thanks Ebert) and it is the superior film. Acting clinic by all major characters, and although Plimpton's character is great and reminds me of Rowf from Plague Dogs, Richard Jenkins and Hal Holbrook are amazing. I've rarely witnessed a character as pissed off as Jenkin's

One of my favorite movies of all-time (my moniker should reflect that). Having just watched Plague Dogs, my pick for  #1 most depressing film ever, I'd still have to say this is the most hopeless. Nightmare Alley and Ace in the Hole are pretty bleak classics. Any other great, depressing films not listed here: http://ww

How do you write anything about 'Force of Evil' without mentioning Marie Windsor, one of the greatest and criminally underrated and under-used character actors ever. One of her few starring roles in a famous film. For shame internet.
