Yeah, it's a nice, atmospheric bit that really hooks you in.

Not even The Venture Brothers?
Michigan overall does a pretty good job with beer. Bells, Founders, Keeweenaw does great stuff in cans. Bells opened up a brewery in my hometown, Upper Hand - haven't had any of the beer yet, though. If you're ever in Marquette, Vierling's Brewpub is excellent as well.
I've found their Namaste to be a repeatable experience. The 60 and 90 Minute IPAs are also very good, but I don't like IPAs so there you are.
Doesn't mean they don't taste good, though.
I have some acquaintances who've run/managed fairly significant restaurants; two of them were talking and one mentioned a "drug test" for his cooks/chefs; the other looked at him like "wtf?" and the first guy explained "yeah, you let him take drugs and see if he can work the line while high. If so, he's hired."
You can get great fish in the Midwest, it's just that you need to order stuff that comes out of a LAKE, not an ocean.
"We want to turn your book into a sitcom"
"Great give me the money!"….months, perhaps years later - "hey, this sitcom is…A SITCOM!"
If more Americans were like him when they traveled abroad - embracing local culture, being open-minded - there'd be no "Ugly American" stereotype.
This article has me feelin' like DeNiro in Taxi Driver
With Jodie Foster and Harvey Keitel
I don't know that I'd defend "Freak Momma" as "great" but it certainly is FUN. As opposed to "Come and Die" which gets tiresome, and "Judgment Night" which felt like it was made 5 yrs before probably as soon as it was mixed.
I think by 2022, we will be nostalgic for events that haven't happened yet.
Boooo, no. I think most of the stuff at the very least hits the level of "fun" (I am looking directly at you, Sir Mix-a-Lot and Mudhoney) and usually is at least interesting. Very few of the tracks fall completely flat, as far as I'm concerned.
The movie, or the soundtrack?
Every reason people say Oasis sucks is correct, and those are also the reasons I love them.
It's sorta like the situation in the movie STILL CRAZY (which is better than the faux-RS cover on the DVD) - the bassist had the voice to be the lead singer, but not the charisma.
DeRo may be a pedantic prick (at times) but he's smart, incisive, and principled, so far as I can tell.
I think the problem isn't the bands, its the fans - you know, if you like grunge, you can't like hair metal, etc. Synths suck even though some of the heaviest bands out there are purely electronic. I tend to go with the "I either like it, or I don't" with no regard to whether or not something is Norwegian Black Metal…
Well, heroin is a helluva drug.
I always thought Dave wanted to be Louis Prima.
