I thought about mentioning Sloan but she's White/Asian, which are both relatively privileged races.

You know what I keep thinking about? It's not about the odd racial overtones of the only main character of color thanklessly yet happily toiling for his white employers. It's not about how unsustainable this new work environment would be (Pruitt is no Leona and won't care about journalistic prestige or any lady…
Thank you! I completely forgot about that guy.
Can someone tell me who that was who was getting yelled at by Luciano & Co, then Nucky, then showing up dead? I'm terrible with faces I haven't seen in more than a year and Wikipedia was no help.
"any of the 14 Utopians are absolutely bonkers"
Yup. The showrunners are trying to engineer drama and "interesting" tv but all they're really doing is reinforcing the authoritarian narrative that people are unable to cooperate or to form a functional society without some entrenched power compelling people to behave.
We have enough problems here without bringing Canada into it.
I'm pretty sure the producers had to jump through a lot of hoops to get the blood on screen. Even Batman had a no-blood policy that I don't remember it violating.
The books explain why they don't just fly the Eagle Express to Mount Doom. But it involves too much backstory to fit in the movies.
There's a big difference between the studios. Marvel Studios is turning into a legit brand. Their universe of products support each other and there's a lot of cross-promotion even when the character sets do not overlap. Marvel will have a much easier time introducing new characters into this established environment.
It's one thing to not have much experience in the world. It's another thing entirely for you to take someone at their word a few weeks(?) after they tried to blow you up with a bazooka (which Brooklyn even calls out!).
One of the next few episodes has blood. Shit gets real.
I think Temptation was the episode that made me begin to actively hate Brooklyn. How can a guy be so gullible and easily manipulated? And why does Goliath pick him to be second in command? I understand that he's supposed to have the whole "leadership brings maturity" character arc, but when he's not being dumb and…
10 year old me had a thing for unrepentant bad girls who had fun doing bad, so Hyena was a crush object. But my favorite was Dingo. His world weary, "look what I have to put up with" attitude when the pack gets its upgrades that's the first step in his redemptive arc is one of my favorite things about the show. But…
This is what I was going to say. The fact that these apparently one-shot characters all got developed throughout the course of the series and that it was probably intentional from the beginning just shows how above and beyond the writing and planning for this series went.
Throat rips for everyone!
Her accent is midwestern. She grew up in Iowa, Idaho or one of those big square states. You'd think her broadcast training (the major she finally graduated in from her 4th college try) would have drilled it out of her. Which makes me think it's a "folksy" put on for the rubes.
Not being a registered Republican. And even worse, not being white while doing so.
Kelly paid off the girl's family to not cooperate with the prosecution. The real scandal here is that he assaulted/raped a horrendous number of young girls but this is the only case that ever got prosecuted. It's also pretty sad that the general public thinks that the 'video of him peeing on a 15 year old' was the…
"Brooklyn gets to tap into his cool side"
Wait. What? When was Brooklyn ever cool? He was a whiny tool plagued with the "leader" curse: his only personality trait was that he was supposed to be a leader, thus making him the most boring character on the show.
Try to remember what Xanatos' ultimate goal is/was. It has nothing to do with the gargoyles' power or flying robots.
