Well, we were also supposed to think that a Lannister tried to kill Bran. But it turned out he was set up. So I was just wondering if the Arryn question had been definitively answered or not, because the show seems to have dropped it. (DO NOT TELL ME WHETHER OR NOT THE BOOKS ADDRESS THIS. This is speculation only,

@avclub-d7f43e1fb2d4977c86163d9b0cb07814:disqus But they showed during the fight that he wasn't killing them. He was just knocking them about. I choose to believe that he stalled to give Arya time to escape and then withdrew himself.

Heh. I have the almost exact opposite prediction. I think their caravan will get sold out to the Kingsguard by one of the crew and he'll end up rescuing Gendry and Arya.

Pretty sure it's idiotking. He just took up the first page of comments with his trolling condescension and actual spoilers (thanks again, asshole). I kind of want to see him get permabanned from GoT newbies threads.

Don's fever dream takes the episode down a notch, but it's more than made up for by the return of Joyce.

Caught up on my Netflix queue with 50/50, Drive and The Adventures of Tin Tin. Drive may have been overhyped for me, because it was a tad disappointing. Was anyone else creeped out by the animation of people in Tin Tin?

You see this? This is how you troll GoT.

Annnnd SPOILED ^^. Good job, asshole.

Why's he trying to get her pregnant? Does he try to do that with other women?

If they go out of their way to give a new character an unusual manner of speaking, you can be pretty certain that they're not just doing it to amuse themselves one time.

Upon rewatching the episode:

@avclub-ef062084a1c4a3584af1d4f8e514ea50:disqus I include Tyrion because he seems to be the only southerner who takes the threat of the north seriously and is currently in a position to do something about it.

Don't you say that! Syrio will never die!

Same here. Her relationship with Syrio continues to be my favorite on the show.

I understand that they're not incestuous and she was just fucking with him. But she still let him feel her up and put his hand down her pants. That counts as inappropriate intrafamily contact.

Well, it's so nice of you to take the time to come here and feel superior to us just because you took the time to read some giant tomes of contemporary fantasy fiction. Good for you.

Theon looks more and more like a young Malcolm McDowell.

I think it will actually end with Dany bringing her dragons to conquer the kingdoms, but then ends up teaming with Jon and Tyrion to fight whatever comes in the north.

Jesus, what is it with George Martin and incest? Is the Stark family the only noble house that doesn't have inappropriate intrafamily contact?

The characters never really gelled. They got sidetracked by some improv early and never came back around a concept. They jumped from an elderly couple of fans to some bizarre TV-raised experiment to some homoerotic fan fic reading. I finished the episode wondering who they were supposed to be.
