Just saw this movie. It's pretty incredible. I wouldn't really call it good, but it's gorgeous and bizarre. It's an experience worth having. I'd say this review gets it about right.

I like both quite a bit, but one of the most memorable Hodgman moments for me came from Resident Expert. It was the explanation of why economics is referred to as "the dismal science". He explained that it was named after Sir Eustice Dismal, an 18th century economist who proposed making smoke stacks out of children.

I think when he says "the problem in mexican angel…" he means the main conflict in the plot, not a problem in terms of concept or narrative.

Not sure that I could narrow it down to one, but here are ones I'd consider

Well, the thing that makes Marc Maron such a good interviewer is that he somehow manages to draw out really intensely personal moments from his interviews. Just listen to his interview with Todd Hanson for a prime example. However, this requires a longer format. I think Maron is fine right where he is. Great podcast,

I love Louie CK but I may have to agree with the shrieking masses. He isn't a great actor. He can play any insanely neurotic variation of himself, but beyond that, he doesn't seem great. I mean, if the parts are written specifically for him, then he may do alright. Otherwise, I'm not so sure.

It's funny that you mentioned Isolation as one of the ones you could get through. I actually find that to be one of their more depressing songs between the cold, empty synth repetition and very straightforward lyrics about total dissatisfaction with life. Joy Division is probably one of my favorite bands, but I can

I think this is probably their most concise album. They cut down on the lengthy intros and noisey outros. They don't beat around the bush much. They jump straight into each song. Like most people, I don't think this was able to top the Monitor, but the Monitor is also an incredibly difficult album to top. Will

It was the summer before I went to college and we had just switched cable services. I think we had showtime at a discounted rate or something. Anyways, I was up late one night and went to the kitchen for a snack. My mom was up watching TV and she invited me to join her. Turns out she was watching the American remake
