Any one of the continuous plot threads has the potential for some great stories, mashing them all together into a huge battle royale seems wasteful. I would love to see them use just one or two threads to create an excellent season finale, then look forward to closure/expansion of the others somewhere down the road.

I too appreciated that bit at the end where she and Finn like they did in previous seasons, very naturally without the awkwardness that you see in 'Too Old' or 'Rattleballs'. Some of PB's best moments are when she's mildly antagonistic but is self-aware enough to realize it and takes steps behind the scenes to make

That was probably the angriest I've ever seen Steven. This episode wasn't one of my favorites, but that moment alone makes it all worth it.

At this point, the only thing that could do it would be pulling the trigger on the Grass Sword and 30-way pileup of external threats against the Candy Kingdom. I'd be perfectly content with something similar to season 4's finale: an awesome episode on its own merits that just happened to arrive on the heels of an

I wouldn't worry too much about the lack of Betty/Marcy interaction in this episode. I think the chances of Marceline not getting involved with trying to cure the Ice King at some point are pretty much nil.

Seconded on the beautiful backgrounds. I have to admit to being surprised they got away with the bright red ketchup coming out of Frybo after Pearl speared him through the eye.

Definitely glad to see Banana Man come back. The added screen time gave Weird Al a lot more material to work with. If I recall correctly, his first appearance didn't even give him a full speaking line, so he kind of went to waste as a guest star.

Part of me thought it was an intentional visual reference to Pain and Gain, based solely on the weightlifting conceit.
