I KNOW, right??
I KNOW, right??
This brings up a few questions:
I remember seeing that. What made that particular deviation odd was that they weren't nearly as big as they'd become a few years later. It was a nice change of pace/callback. Also, I really wished they would continue with the long-form sketches/short films, instead of the "Andy Samberg music video of the week."…
Netflix is odd with their SNL reruns. Some are cut down to 20 minutes. I'd say stick to Hulu if you want full(er) episodes, but I think even some of those are missing musical performances. Either way, both services are about to lose SNL (to Yahoo! the fuck??) so you're better off with those DVDs.
and boredom!
Cocteau Twins or House of Love? I dunno, as much as I love the dreampop/noisepop/shoegaze genre(s), getting into specifics as to what exactly falls into each category gets really confusing.
When I was young I knew everything.
It's hard to explain, but there was a crop of comedies in the past decade that had to bludgeon the fact that they were funny over our heads and that we should absolutely be laughing at them. To paraphrase (of all people) Peter Griffin, they insist upon themselves.
I thought she'd go away if I gave her a dollar!
He wants a piece of shit to suck his dick?? Gross!
Oh, absolutely, but they still made an effort to make it less ambiguous in the various cuts- Unicorn dream, glowing eyes, etc.
So they cool it on the awkward pop culture references and ostentatious humor? Because, again, I really enjoyed the concept and watched most (if not all) of the first season, but devoting time to figuring out if "that was the guy from Duran Duran," and whether or not he's gay just reeked of pretension.
I don't care for it. Great concept, terrible execution.
I'm completely fine with that.
I'm actually struggling to find something to add because that's more or less exactly how I feel and was prepared to type up.
Someone's jealous they didn't get a hug…
From now on? I've always been doing that!
Great. I'm beginning to sound like my dealer!
After working Memorial Day and 12+ hour days to meet a deasline this week, our boss let us out exceptionally early. Plus, off Monday!
Am I alone in thinking that introducing the idea of Deckard possibly being a replicant ruins a good chunk of the film's theme? Still great, but the idea of Deckard being human, and coming to see these skin-jobs as peers makes for a better story to me.
